Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint and Climbing Roses Thank You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with using this pretty, monochromatic-ish, color palette!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I pulled out my favorite paper from the Needlepoint Nook DSP and combined it with a sentiment from the Climbing Roses stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Guessing you can figure our color challenge?

I also played along with the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week for a little help on the layout.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF, then I double-matted it on Balmy Blue and Night of Navy for the card front.

Then I cut a square of the Needlepoint Nook DSP, matted it on Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped some Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine twice around the card, securing it on the back with Glue Dots.  Then I took a shorter length and tied a bow around it.

I stamped the Climbing Roses sentiment in Night of Navy on Whisper White and cut it out with the label die in the Rose Trellis Thinlits.  I popped it over the Needlepoint Nook DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the trellis image from Climbing Roses a couple of times in Balmy Blue on a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to double mat the panel on Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, then adhered it into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Climbing Roses trellis in Balmy Blue on the front…

…and I added more of my favorite paper from Needlepoint Nook on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Super simple and super easy!  Hardest piece was making the bow! LOL!  I love this Needlepoint Nook DSP – and the Climbing Roses bundle is gorgeous!  I hope you like!

  1. I love the simplicity of your card. You and Amy were on the same wave length.

The color scheme made me do it! And – as much as I’m not a CAS-type….I ended up loving it! So crisp and clean! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

Right?!? And yes – I was really pleased with it! I DID have to force myself not to do a big double loop bow, or add pearls or…ANYTHING else! 😉
