Stampin’ Up! Forever Lovely Day Sneak Peek

Good morning, my peeps!  It’s the weekend – and a long one at that, leading into Christmas!  I hope you’re ready and are now kicking back to enjoy the results of your preparations!  I got my cookie plates delivered yesterday – which not only brought smiles to the recipients, but GOT THE COOKIES OUT OF MY HOUSE!!  Winner winner!

My card today is a clean and simple little number using the new Forever Lovely stamp set, the beautiful Lace Dynamic TIEF and some All My Love DSP.  These are all available starting on 3 Jan in the 2019 Occasions Catalog!  Take a look-see:

I borrowed the layout for this one from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and embossed it in the new Lace Dynamic TIEF (coming on 3 Jan!).  I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to a Flirty Flamingo mat for the card front.

The two smaller panels are both from the beautiful All My Love DSP, both matted on Flirty Flamingo and then adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used a few Glue Dots to wind some Flirty Flamingo 1/8″ Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.

The sentiment, from the Forever Lovely stamp set, is stamped in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White, then cut with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  I popped it over the ribbon with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a frosted shape from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets (from the Holiday Catalog) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used Lovely Lipstick to add the first step of the large flower image from Forever Lovely to the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  The fill-in image is done in Flirty Flamingo – and I used my Stamparatus for these to be sure I’d get good solid images!  I added a few Frosted Epoxy Droplets, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Flirty Flamingo mat and into my Lovely Lipstick card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Forever Lovely flowers on the front…

…and a little more All My Love DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Quick and easy and lets the All My Love DSP shine thru!  The Lace Dynamic TIEF adds wonderful texture without stealing the show from the paper or the lovely sentiment from Forever Lovely!  Hope you like!

P.S.  Check out my special bundles!  Bundle #1 gets you everything you need to make this card – with the exception of the Lace Dynamic TIEF!  Cuz yes – you sure could use the Heart Epoxy Droplets instead of the Frosted Epoxy Droplets!

Finn Fan Fix

We reap what we sow, folks!  That is a so-true statement.

When Finn was little, I let him be in the kitchen with me.  Lick the dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

He was so cute.  I just couldn’t tell him no.

Now?  At 65 pounds – he’s taking up a LOT of space.  And – as I’ve shown in the past, he strategically places himself right.  Smack.  Dab.  In my way.

Every.  Time.

So – it is with heavy heart that I’ve started a new rule and training regimen.

It’s called “Go Lay On Your Spot”.

And it involves him going and laying on the rug by the back door.  He can still see me.  He’s not being banished from the house – or really even from the kitchen.

Just banished from under my feet!

My HEAD knows I’m not killing/abusing/punishing him.

My HEART though…. 🙁

  1. What a pretty card! Love that designer paper and the colors are perfect! Poor Finn…he does have a rough life. Ha! Not being able to lick the dishes or be under your feet while you’re cooking…poor guy. 😉

Thanks, Amy! And – I know! He’s got a pretty tough row to hoe, all in all. 🙂

I try – it’s a hard time of year! But – I’ll get to the other side and deal with whatever comes! Thanks, Jean! 🙂

  3. Kate

He gets it. Hakuna matata. 😃

  4. Agree with your mom…of course he gets it! But…your heart doesn’t. Even if you know it is the right thing to do. My cat is always under my feet too, but she is pretty small. Very pretty card. I didn’t think I wanted that DSP, but you and Sue have changed my mind. It will be on my next order.

    • stampsnlingers

Yea – it’s pretty paper! Thanks, Julie – I’ll persevere and just look away from “the look”! 🙂

  5. Kathy Fennell

You know Mary they know how to tug at your heart strings, but better to get the look from them then a possible broken bone( both of you). Some day Finn will thank you! 🙂 Very pretty card today…looking forward to getting this set.

    • stampsnlingers

True – broken bones are WAY worse than having to lay on the rug while I’m in the kitchen!! Excellent point! Thanks much, Kathy – you’ll love it! 🙂
