Stampin’ Up! Nature Sings With Sheet Music

Good morning, my peeps!  It’s Friday again!  Tomorrow Finn-y gets his staples out!  Can you believe it?  And he’s coming back to us! 🙂

Now – today I’ve made a card using all current product – meaning you have (or could get!) everything you need to make this one!  And – in case you’re one of those uber-organized folk, it’s a Christmas Card!  Make this vintage-inspired card and you’re one-on-the-way to being ready to mail out your cards this Christmas!  So – gather up the Nature Sings and Sheet Music stamp sets, the Pretty Pines Thinlits and some Be Merry DSP and make…this.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this month’s Viva La Verve sketch.

And the Christmas theme was thanks to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

I started with a piece of Be Merry DSP in Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White – which I antiqued with a Stampin’ Sponge and Crumb Cake ink!  Then I adhered it to a Cherry Cobbler mat with Liquid Glue.

The next layer is a square of Crumb Cake, stamped with the Sheet Music background stamp – in Crumb Cake.  I used the new Detailed Trio Punch (okay – you can’t get this until 1 June – but you COULD use the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board!) to round all four corners of this panel and its Cherry Cobbler mat.

I adhered the panels together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next, I used a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere a length of 5/8 Burlap Ribbon, wrapping it around to the back. Over that is a piece of 1/4″ Copper Trim – secured in the back with a little strip of Tear & Tape.

I punched a Vellum Card Stock circle with the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch, then added the Nature Sings sentiment in Early Espresso all over it.  It’s adhered with a few Glue Dots – be sure to put them down where they’re hidden by the sentiment.

I pulled out one of my favorite die sets – the Pretty Pines Thinlits – and cut several pine boughs from Always Artichoke (sadly retiring – but Mossy Meadow is coming back, so…whoo-hoo!) and a couple of berry branches from Copper Foil.  I also pulled a few lengths of twine out of a piece of Burlap Ribbon.

I adhered the pine boughs and berries with Liquid Glue, and used a couple of Glue Dots for the twine (arranging it ever-so-artistically!).

For the sentiment, I stamped a few of the trees from Nature Sings in Always Artichoke – I stamped the image twice without re-inking –  on a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I added an Early Espresso sentiment.  Then I cut it with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  I sponged the edges lightly with Crumb Cake, popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Nature Sings in Early Espresso to a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, I added the pine bough (from Nature Sings) in stamped-off-once Always Artichoke. I also added more of the tree image across the bottom – stamping the image twice without re-inking.  Then I sponged the whole thing with Crumb Cake.

I adhered the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Nature Sings trees in Always Artichoke across the front…

… and I added some more of the Be Merry DSP onto the envelope flap – after sponging it with Crumb Cake first!

Et Voila!  Will the Nature Sing and the Sheet Music background stamp sets help you make your first Christmas Card of 2018?  I sure hope so – and don’t forget the Pretty Pines Thinlits to add that woodsy collage touch!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I’ve had some folks ask how Finn’s surgical site is doing.

Well – it looks itchy to me, but…he doesn’t seem to worry overmuch about it.  And it’s healing perfectly.

Brace yourself – if you’re squeamish…when I woke up to find staples in my leg, that sorta put me off (read: freaked me out!) – so… ready?

Not so bad, huh?  Way better than the “before” pics – which I’ll spare you! 🙂

And – he’s just chillin’ with it!

He’s SO much better, y’all!  It’s pretty much a miracle! 🙂
