Stampin’ Up! Merry Patterns ‘Tis the Season

Mornin’, y’all! It’s Monday again! No telling what we’re in for today as far as weather goes. Just know that, if the power goes out for any length of time…we’ll be using the generator to keep food cold. So… that might put tomorrow’s blog post in question. You’ll know tomorrow!

If you were able to join me last night on my FB Live video – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not – then here’s a link to the video on YouTube, in case you want to watch! 🙂  This one uses the really fun Merry Patterns stamp set – which is available exclusively to folks who host a workshop or place an individual order of $300 or more between now and the end of October!

I added some Christmas Around the World plaid DSP and this is what resulted.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I started by Fast Fusing a piece of the Christmas Around the World DSP to a Real Red mat for the card front.

I made the sentiment portion from a piece of Whisper White – also matted on Real Red card stock. Then I stamped the outline of the sentiment from Merry Patterns in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Using Real Red ink, I added the pretty fill-in for the sentiment.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel to the card front.

I cut a Stitched Shapes circle from Whisper White card stock and matted it on a Real Red scallop circle.  Then I stamped the outline of the candle image in Tuxedo Black.

There are two candle fill-in images in the stamp set.  I stamped one in Garden Green and the other in Real Red.  Then I added the little flames in Daffodil Delight.

Because it was there – and I like pines – I added the little pine bough in Garden Green under the candles – then I popped the circle on over the sentiment panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I tied a small bow from Real Red Mini Tinsel Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Finally, I added three Black Rhinestone Jewels to the sentiment flourish.

On the inside, I added a second Merry Patterns sentiment in Real Red on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the candles again – same colors, only this time, I stamped each image off twice before stamping the panel.  That way it was all light enough to not overpower the sentiment.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a reprise of the Merry Patterns candles – in full strength ink cross the front…

…and some more Christmas Around the World DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This stamp set is so much fun – with all the possibilities of the multi-step stamped images.  I’d love to help you get it for yourself to help make wonderful Christmas cards this year and…well…for many seasons to come! 🙂  There are more details down below!

Finn-Fan Fix

So – as I write this on Saturday evening, we’ve gotten ourselves ready for the arrival of Irma tomorrow.

As ready as we can get for a Tropical Storm, I suppose.

Food – check.

Water – check.

Generator close to house – check.

Horses set – check.

Fuel in all the vehicles and extra for the Genny – check!

Finn helped.  Cuz…that’s what he does.  Here he’s monitoring his dad filling gas cans.

Reporting in – all’s well, Mom.  Dad is filling every tank and can.  As you requested.

Later – after we got home and he had a well-deserved nap….he got himself ready to go back out and do man-work.

First step – get the dog.

…and once you have him, put him in his spot on the ottoman and await further instructions.

I know.  I know.

He’s a goofus. 🙂
