Stampin’ Up! Hello Friend Honey Bear

Mornin’, y’all!  Guess what day it is?

Yep!  HAAAAWWWWMMP Day!  Reaching the top of the hill then the slide into the weekend!  Whoo-hooo!

And – it’s the second day that you can 1) redeem your Bonus Days coupons and 2) get the Carols of Christmas bundle!  So…you know what to do!  Or if you don’t – read on down a ways!

My card today is a little 3″ x 3″ square.  I don’t actually know why I made it this size – unless it’s in response to two fun little goodies in the Holiday Catalog.  We’ll have Whisper White 3″ Square Envelopes and…little Pizza Boxes!  What fun packaging they’ll be for cookies, little gifts – or…a stack of little cards and envelopes.

Maybe like this little one I made to welcome a tiny human – using the A Little Wild and Hello Friend stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with The Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge this week.  I went across the bottom row!

I started by heat embossing the pretty floral wreath image from Hello Friend in White – I inked the image with Versamark and stamped it on a piece of Pool Party card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  When it was cool, I cut it out with the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die.

Next up, I stamped the little honey bear from A Little Wild in Basic Black Archival Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and cut him out with the matching die in the Little Loves Framelits.  That makes a double image, so I carefully snipped the stamped image so that I had a bear – and not a tag!

I also stamped the bee hive and a few bees and cut them with their dies, too – love the bees!! 🙂

Using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, I colored the little bear with So Saffron and shaded him with some Crushed Curry.  I did the same on the hive – alternating “ribs” with the two colors.  And finally, I colored the bees with Crushed Curry.

The hive is adhered to the circle with Liquid Glue – then I popped the bear on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I also added a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional on the back of each bee and popped them on, too.

The card is a 3″ x 6″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock folded at 3″.  Then I Fast Fuse’d a piece of the Gold foil paper from the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP onto a piece of So Saffron card stock.  I used some Liquid Glue to add the Pool Party circle with its decorations.  And the front of the card was done.

On the inside, I stamped the A Little Wild sentiment in So Saffron ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  And I added a few more bees in Basic Black Archival Ink and colored them with my Crushed Curry and Clear Wink.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my little card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

I used a piece of Bundle of Love Specialty DSP to make a little envelope with the Envelope Punch Board and some Tear & Tape Adhesive…

…and the inside matches the card front!

Et Voila!  I love little tiny cards like this – even though I don’t make them very often. They’re perfectly perfect as inclusions with a gift, don’t you think?  And – there’s not many more adorable images than this honey bear from A Little Wild.  I was pleased with how nicely the little wreath in Hello Friend worked behind him, too.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

Ladies and Gentlemen….I give you… Esther Williams!

No wait…it’s Mark Spitz!

No no no – it’s that guy that swam the English Channel.  Yes – that’s HIM!!

Unfortunately, this particular long-distance swim training session was cut short by….a monster!! 🙂

Yes – immediately after the paparazzi snapped that final shot…something!…touched his leg.

He did a pirouette in the water and beat feet…erhm….paws!!…to the shore!

I think it was probably a catfish.

See?  Even in the water…cats are not to be trusted!!

You’ve packed such a lot of goodness into your sweet 3×3 card! The floral embossed wreath that your bear sits on in great! I think the bees are adorable. The colouring is subtle and done beautifully. The papers you’ve picked are plain lovely! It’s a super wee card. Thank you for sharing it with us at The Paper Players this week.

  11. Your little bear makes for the cutest 3×3 Mary – I love the wreath circle behind and co-ordinating envelope too. Thanks for joining us for TicTacToe over at The Paper Players this week!
