Stampin’ Up! All Things Thanks in an Urban Underground – A Last Sneak Peek!

Happy Tuesday, y’all – or should I say…happy day-before-the-Occasions-Catalog-and-Sale-A-Bration-go-live day!?  Whoo-hoo!  I hope you’re excited and have your shopping lists all ready to go.

So….Finn’s been a little more in the house than out these last couple days – rain rain and more rain!  Which means that when he’s awake – he’s a little more….busy…than normal.  Usually just playing with his toys, chewing his bones, checking out the cat bowls, trying to make friends with the cats, pulling paper towels from the trash, scooping up little bits of scrap card stock and DSP that might be on the floor, and….

finn-in-the-leather-chair
No – that is not his chair.  No – he’s really not supposed to be on it.  And – no.  I didn’t scold him.  Cuz…look how cutely he’s laying!??  With his green toy (the one that squeaks and rustles like he’s in the garbage – thanks, Jan!).  He did get a little bored soon after the picture and got down.

Rainy days are really hard! 🙁

My card for today is the final sneak peek for the 2017 Occasions Catalog – as of tomorrow, you’ll be able to order any and all of the products I use!  This one dove into the Urban Underground Suite – I used the Nailed It stamp set and the Build It Framelits as well as some of the Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  To that, I added a couple of sentiments from Thankful Thoughts, from the Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

This one played with the first Mojo Monday sketch challenge of 2017:

mm478-sketch
I started out with a piece of the Urban Underground Specialty DSP, which I matted on Delightful Dijon.  For the center rectangle, I ran a piece of the Silver Foil thru the Big Shot in the new Hexagons Dynamic TIEF.  I matted it on Delightful Dijon and set it aside.

I made the vertical panel from a strip of Very Vanilla card stock – then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add some Nailed It wrenches in Basic Gray Archival Ink, a screwdriver in Delightful Dijon, some tacks in Basic Gray and a few hex nuts (see?  I threw those construction terms out there like a boss!!) in Delightful Dijon.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I SNAILd the embossed Silver Foil panel to the card front, butting it right up to the edge of the Very Vanilla panel.  Then I wrapped a piece of Delightful Dijon 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon around the panel (covering the seam I just made!) and secured it in the back with scotch tape.

The strip across the card front is a triple layer.  First, I used the fun little die in the Build It Framelits to make a “ruler” on Very Vanilla.  This die doesn’t cut the card stock – it actually embosses it.  Then I SNAILd that on another piece of Urban Underground Specialty DSP and a Delightful Dijon card stock mat.  I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Thankful Thoughts, is stamped in Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla and cut out with the largest circle die in the Stitched Shapes Frameltis (showing back in stock on 16 Jan).  I matted it on a scalloped circle of Delightful Dijon (cut with the largest scallop die in the Circles Layering Framelits) with Liquid Glue.  I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla.  Over the sentiment, I stamped a Nailed It wrench in stamped-off-once Basic Gray Archival Ink.  Then I scattered a whole bunch of Basic Gray tacks across the bottom.

I SNAILd it to a Delightful Dijon mat and into a Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I scattered some more Nailed It tacks in Basic Gray across the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope…

…and added some more Urban Underground Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Perfect thank you card for a guy, I think.  Which is handy, since that’s where it’s headed!  Urban Underground is a super sweet Suite for making all sorts of masculine cards.  Hope you like!
