Stampin’ Up! Pretty Kitty Flourishes with Weather Together

Good morning again!  Hope your weekend is going well.

I have no preliminary banter.  But I do have another animal picture for you.

Be warned.  It’s graphic.  It’s for mature audiences only.  It’s the kind of picture that, should I ever run for office, will come back and haunt me.

Yep.  It’s pony butts.  Nekkid pony butts.  Cerah’s right in front of the camera and her kid, Cady, is on the right. 🙂

I took that on Saturday morning while we were waiting for the big horse to meander his way to the pasture gate.  Aren’t they just so cute?  Other than their schnoozles, their big ole apple butts are my favorite part of them!

That’s a grazing muzzle you see there – covered by a fly mask.  Yes, she can eat (just not her body weight in grass each day!) and drink and yes, she can see!

And yes, she has a Stamps-N-Lingers watermark on her butt! 😉

Okay.  That’s it.  On to the card!

My friend’s friend asked her to ask me if I could make a bridal shower card for her.  The only guidance I got was….she has a cat.  And he’s orange.  At least I didn’t get asked for the Sitting Here bench… 😉

So, I pulled out Pretty Kitty, and an umbrella from the Weather Together bundle….and a suitable sentiment from Flourishing Phrases.  Here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Pinterest is a great source of inspiration – it yielded the idea for the upside down umbrella with the flowers, and the wedding dress made from doilies.  Thank you, Pinterest!

I started by embossing a Whisper White panel  in the Lovely Lace TIEF, and SNAILing it to a mat cut from a piece of Blooms & Bliss DSP.

Then I made the dress.  Now, heed me on this – I didn’t even sort of come up with this on my own.  If I’d seen the picture and there hadn’t been instructions, I’d have folded every single Delicate White Doily I owned without it ever looking remotely like a wedding dress!  Fortunately, Angie at Paper, Paws, Etc gave a great tutorial and it’s super easy – even works with our smaller doilies.  Check it out here!  I used Blushing Bride 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for the dress sash.

The umbrella is from the Weather Together stamp set, stamped in Blushing Bride ink and cut with the matching die from the Umbrella Weather Framelits.  There’s two umbrella dies in the set – I used the one that creates creases in the die cut, making it easy to make the umbrella more 3-d.  I stamped the handle in Crumb Cake and cut it with its die, then colored the grip with my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the umbrella.

Miss Pretty Kitty is stamped in Crumb Cake and colored with Pumpkin Pie, using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush, picking up the ink from the lid of the ink pad.  Then I fussy cut her – if you look really closely you’ll see I didn’t follow every little hair!

My flowers are cut in Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White, using the smallest flower die in the Botanical Builder Framelits.  Then I stuck them together with some Liquid Glue and added Blushing Bride and So Saffron Enamel Shapes to them,

I assembled the art montage, starting with Kitty, adhering her with Liquid Glue.  Next came the bridal dress, which I popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added flowers with Liquid Glue and then popped the umbrella on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut with an Oval Layering Framelits.  I matted it on Blooms & Bliss DSP, cut with the next largest scalloped oval die.  I popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add two more sentiments from Flourishing Phrases in Rich Razzleberry.  Then I added the Pretty Kitty in Crumb Cake, peeking in the corner.  She’s colored again with Pumpkin Pie.  And I added another Botanical Builder flower just for ducks.

I matted it on Blooms & Bliss DSP and then SNAILd it into my Blushing Bride card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got Kitty and an umbrella.  I stamped the Weather Together umbrella first in Blushing Bride.  Then I used a sticky note to cut a mask and masked it off.  Over that, I stamped the umbrella handle in Crumb Cake, then came Kitty.  When I lifted the mask, I had…

…then I added more Blooms & Bliss DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Like I said, time will tell if this works or not!  But, I’m really tickled with the little wedding dress and the flower filled umbrella!  Hope you like! 🙂
