Stampin’ Up! Jar of Haunts Halloween Treat for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop. This is color sketch challenge week – and it’s one of my favorite color combos, especially this time of year! I bet you’re going to see a lot of fun Fall and Halloween cards today, so be sure to check out all our hoppers today, okay?

I went straight up Halloween with this color grouping.  A little cliche but…hey! Sometimes it’s gotta be okay to take the easy way, right? 🙂

I used Jar of Haunts and the Halloween Treat a la carte stamp for my card – and added in a little Halloween Nights DSP.  Take a look-see:

You were expecting to actually see a jar, weren’t you?  But no.  I tagged the cute pumpkin and the little spider.  I really really love that little spidey!  And I think this is one of the best pumpkin images in the catalog – out of a bunch of great pumpkin images!

I started with a panel of Halloween Nights DSP and matted it on Basic Gray card stock for the card front.  I inked up the fun a al carte stamp called Halloween Treat in Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped it on a second design from the DSP, then matted it on Basic Gray as well and SNAILd it to the card front.  I added a couple three Jar of Haunts Basic Black spiders, too.

My Jack O’Lantern is from Jar of Haunts – I stamped the outline image in Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White.  Then I added the face, also in Basic Black.  He’s colored with my Clear Wink of Stella, which I used to pick up ink from the lid of my Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango ink pads.  I fussy cut him and adhered him to a Basic Gray circle with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I’d cut the circle with my Circles Layering Framelits.  I also cut a scalloped circle from Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper and then punched a hole in the middle with a Circle Punch.

I punched the hole in the glimmer paper to make it easier to adhere everything over the top.  First I used some Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.  Then I put a Stampin’ Dimensional on the back of the Basic Gray circle and used that to adhere to the card front – thru the hole I’d cut in the glimmer paper.

Did that make sense?  Probably sounds confusing – just do the steps, and as you do it, I promise it will! 🙂

The final piece of the (pumpkin) pie was to stamp the stem and leaf on a little scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut it.  I colored the leaf with my Old Olive and Always Artichoke Stampin’ Write Markers, and the stem with the Soft Suede marker.  Then I adhered it in place.

I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add the little vine-y curly do’s to the Basic Gray circle.  Lastly, I used a little dab of Liquid Glue to adhere a tiny bow, tied with the Halloween Night Baker’s Twine.

On the inside, I repeated the Jack O’Lantern on a piece of Whisper White and then SNAILd it to a Basic Gray card stock mat.

I stuck a little Jar of Haunts spider on the pumpkin….and then SNAILd it into my Pumpkin Pie card base.  Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Jar of Haunts pumpkin and spider on the front…

…and some of the Halloween Nights DSP on the envelope flap.  And I added some more spiders, cuz I could! 🙂

Et Voila! I really like this Halloween Treat a la carte stamp set and, of course, Jar of Haunts has so many cute images in it – you don’t even need to use the jar image! Hope you like! 🙂
