Stampin’ Up! Vertical Blooms & Bliss!

Happy Friday, y’all!  And it’s the Friday before a 3-day weekend, so….yeah!!! 🙂  Do you all have plans to celebrate the birth of our great nation?  Does it include homemade ice cream??  Corn-on-the-cob?  Watermelon?!

Whatever your plans – have fun.  Enjoy your families.  But, please.  Please.  Be careful.  Pay attention to what’s going on around you.  Just sayin’.  We shouldn’t be afraid.  But we don’t have to be goofy, either.

That concludes this public safety announcement!

Shall we talk about a card, maybe – since that’s really why you stopped by?  Fair enough – let’s git it.

I used the pretty new Blooms & Bliss DSP for this one today – no particular reason other than it’s so pretty!  And I paired it up with the Vertical Greetings stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with the sketch challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Here’s challenge number 241:

HSS #241 Sketch
As you can see, I flipped the sketch up on it’s end!

I started out by punching and rounding one corner of a pretty design from the Blooms & Bliss DSP and a Island Indigo mat.  On the DSP panel, I used the Project Life Corner Punch.  For the mat, I employed the corner rounder that’s on the backside of the Envelope Punch Board!  The two corners work perfectly together, don’t they? Then I SNAILd them together.

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The center…center-ish??…panel is a Whisper White panel that I dry embossed with the Petal Burst TIEF, rounded the corner with the Project Life Corner Punch, and SNAILd to an Island Indigo mat (with the corner rounded in the Envelope Punch Board).  Then I SNAILd that to the card front.

The focal art panel is all from the Vertical Greetings stamp set.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up the heart topiary.  I used Blushing Bride on the heart, Crumb Cake on the trunk and Mint Macaron and Island Indigo for the planter.  Then I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the sentiment in Island Indigo.

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I cut the end with my Banner Triple Punch and edged it with my Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Marker.  I wanted to make it look like it was hanging from a ribbon, so I ran a strip of the new Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon down the front (after snipping the end!) and adhered it with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I used a Glue Dot to stick a little bow on at the top of the ribbon.  Then I popped my sentiment banner over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I added a little bow of Blushing Bride Solid Baker’s Twine to the planter, and one little Blushing Bride heart from the Subtles Enamel Shapes to the ribbon.  And that was it!

On the inside, I did an old-school strip of Blooms & Bliss DSP matted on Island Indigo.  I also added another of the topiary hearts – I inked it with my Blushing Bride ink pad – covering the rest of the stamp with scotch tape.  And I took a chance and just stamped it without using the StampA-Ma-Jig.

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Ha – nailed it!  Which just goes to show that even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut, huh?!? 😉

I SNAILd the panel onto an Island Indigo mat and then into my Whisper White card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I repeated my Stampin’-Write-Marker-stamped Vertical Greetings topiary…

…And added a strip of the Blooms & Bliss DSP to the envelope flap!

Vertical Blooms & Bliss 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  I love this Vertical Greetings stamp set – and when combined with Blooms & Bliss paper and the fun Petal Burst TIEF.  Well, I just think it kind of works like a champ! Hope that you like it, too. 🙂
