Stampin’ Up! Fiesta Like There’s No Mañana Birthday!

Good morning!  You know what day it is, so I won’t even tell you.

Naaah – gotta.  It’s HAWMMP day! 😉  And – it’s tamale.  Well, actually it’s today.  But yesterday today was tamale.  Which is also today.  Yesterday.

Or something like that…

I have no cute puppy pics for you today – sorry!  So, let’s just get straight into the card, shall we?  As some of you suspected, I used the Birthday Fiesta stamp set and the coordinating Fiesta Time Framelits (get it as a bundle for 10% savings!) for this birthday card today.  When I added a little Swirly Scribbles and some Festive Birthday DSP….take a look-see:

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by SNAILing the wood-look paper found in the Serene Scenery DSP Stack to a piece of Crushed Curry card stock.  Then I started playing with stamps and dies.  I made a “sun” from two Swirly Scribbles dies – one in Crushed Curry and one in Pumpkin Pie (I figure that might be how the sun looks in Arizona these days!! 🙁 )  I adhered them in the “sun spot” with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

My flag banner was so easy – I just cut it with the flag banner die in the Fiesta Time Framelits, right from a piece of Festive Birthday DSP.  And stuck it on with Liquid Glue!

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The cacti were stamped in Emerald Envy (pretty obviously stamped off cuz we all know how deep and rich a color Emerald Envy is!) and cut with their matching framelits.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere two of them.  Over that, I glued my llama.  She was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla and then I colored her with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker and then fussy cut her (there’s a matching framelit, but I wanted her cut close with no edge!).   I got a little busy and gave her some Basic Black mascara, pretty Emerald Envy green eyes and Rose Red lipstick. 😉

Her saddle is colored in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze, with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

After she was adhered – I popped the third cactus over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, I made a sentiment oval with the new Layering Ovals Framelits.  I stamped the Birthday Fiesta sentiment in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White and then added the flourish in Emerald Envy.  The mat is cut with the next largest scalloped oval framelit in Crushed Curry.  I SNAILd them together and used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensions to adhere it over the cacti and Miss Llama.  I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the flourish and the card front was done!

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I stamped the second Birthday Fiesta sentiment in Pumpkin Pie on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I added another die cut banner across the top and SNAILd the panel to a Crushed Curry mat.

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd it into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped a banner across the front – in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  The Birthday Fiesta stamp set is a lot of fun – and includes a stamp for the “line”, one for the banner background and several different images to choose from for the banner designs!

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

And then I used a little more of the Festive Birthday DSP to make a custom envelope flap!

Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A fun and festive birthday card suitable for almost anyone.  When I first saw this set at Convention this past spring, I sort of thought…”meh”!….but now.  Now I think it’s going to be an awful lot of fun to play with!  And I love this little llama – he (or she!) is just too cute!  Hope you like and will consider adding this Suite to your “must-have” list! 🙂
