Stampin’ Up! Petite Pairs with Grateful Bunch

Update (9 May 16) – just found out that this card was selected as a Design Team pick over on Stamp Ink Paper.  Check this card and the other winners at this link!  What a nice honor to be given! 🙂

Happy Star Wars Day, y’all!  May The Fourth Be With You! 🙂

I’ll tell you, this week is going by fast!  And work is heating up – fixin’ to be doing some really long days. The kind that start at the hindquarter-crack-of-dawn!  Yuk.  Which means I’m really kind of regretting my days of….sloth!….of this past weekend!  I usually, when I’m away like this and working long days, try to get all my cards for the week done on the weekend.  Cuz I know I’m going to get back to the hotel in a state of brain-deadness; wanting nothing more than dinner, a shower and to veg out in front of the tv till I fall asleep!

But – I must say, I can’t regret what I did on my days of sloth!  Eating great food and browsing the historic district in Savannah on Saturday and stamping with a friend on Sunday!  So, I’ll take it like a man…a WOman, that is!….and git ‘er done this week!

Today’s card uses another couple of things that are retiring – Petite Pairs stamp set and a little more of the lovely Birthday Bouquet DSP.  To that, I’ve added some flowers from the Grateful Bunch stamp set, punched with their matching Blossom Bunch Punch.  Which are not – thankfully! – retiring!  Take a look-see:

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The design for my card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch #446:

MM446 sketch

And I also played along with the Stamp Ink Paper Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #46:

SIP #46

I went down the left side of the game – Flowers – Bling – Pink!

With the exception of some fussy cutting, this one is really quick to put together.  And even that wasn’t unreasonable!

I started by SNAILing a piece of the Mossy Meadow Birthday Bouquet DSP to a panel of Watermelon Wonder, to form the card front.  I took another piece of that DSP and fussy cut around the scalloped design – to create the scallops in the Mojo Monday Sketch.  I SNAILd that to its own panel of Watermelon Wonder and then to the card front.

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Easy peasy!  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs (one of the very first sentiment stamp sets I ever bought – I’m really going to miss it!), stamped in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I cut it out with a label from the Tags & Labels Framelits and matted it on – you guessed it! – Watermelon Wonder, cut with the next larger die in the set.  I popped that on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the flowers, I stamped a bunch of images from the Grateful Bunch set – this is the triple-image-stamp.  I used Watermelon Wonder and stamped them on Whisper White.  I punched them all out with the Blossom Bunch punch, which I got bundled up for a 15% savings!  (Side note:  I have some news to share with you about pricing, so read on to that down below!).  I used my Blushing Bride ink pad, squeezed the top of the lid into the pad (with it closed – duh, Mary!), and then picked up the ink with my sort-of-used-up Clear Wink of Stella.  I used that ink to paint all the petals.

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

At that point, it was all looking pretty good, but I decided that I was going to double up all the flowers to make Chrysanthemum looking blooms.  And I wanted them to be really thin and pointy.  So I pulled my trusty Paper Snips back out and fussy cut them all.  It didn’t take that long – don’t be afeared!  Then I rolled everyone’s petals with my bone folder, adhered the flowers together with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then stuck them to the card.

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Oh – the littlest flower?  It’s actually THREE layers of littlest flower!  I had one left over.  So…what the heck!  All the flowers except for that tiny one are popped on with Dimensionals.  Itty bitty dude is stuck with some Liquid Glue!

I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to each flower and the front was done! 🙂

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I used another panel of Whisper White, and stamped the coordinating sentiment from Petite Pairs in Mossy Meadow (using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line it up) and then SNAILing it to a piece of Watermelon Wonder.  I created another narrow strip of scalloped Birthday Bouquet DSP by fussy cutting the scallop again and adhering it to a Watermelon Wonder mat.

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 9 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd it into my Mossy Meadow card base (seriously – Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride and Mossy Meadow – simply made for each other!) and popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the Whisper White Medium Envelope, I stamped the dotted leaves image from Grateful Bunch on the front.  Then I added a Watermelon Wonder single flower.  I covered the other two flowers with sticky note tape and only inked the flower that I wanted…

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…I cut a liner from a piece of 2014-2016 In Color Designer Paper Stack in dotted Mossy Meadow (yes, I’m out of this design in the Birthday Bouquet! 🙁 ), cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelits.  And I SNAILd that into my….

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…dang it!

Fortunately I saw my error before SNAILing my liner into the envelope and had time to correct.  Hint:  don’t clean and put all your stamps away until you’re completely done and you know you don’t need them again! 🙂

Grateful Birthday Bouquet 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A pink, flowery, bling-y birthday card – using some of the prettiest of the Stampin’ Up! goodies!  Hope you like!

Tomorrow is Happy Stampers Blog Hop day – so we’ll be coming live at 7am Eastern!  Hope you’ll join us – we’re all making projects with the colors Rose Red – Garden Green – and Crumb Cake! 🙂

See you tomorrow for the blog hop! 🙂

TTFN!
