Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wishes Just a Note

Good morning!  Well, it’s Sunday, so Amy and I are likely beginning the trek back to Joh-ja (that’s Georgia for you yanks!) as you’re reading this.  OnStage Live is done for 2016 – and….we found out right at the end that the next event – OnStage Local, this November – will have one venue in Atlanta!!  Now, that’s worthy of a whoo-hoo! No travel required!! 🙂  We were so happy to get this news!

We made sure to get our picture taken under the #Onstage2016 sign before we left.  I have no idea why I’m holding that flower stick like that! 😉

Amy and me under the sign
I’ve got a lot to share with you – starting tomorrow afternoon! Sneak peeks of the wonderful new catalog.  Expect a “regular” post from me in the morning and then a second post in the afternoon.  That second one will also contain the Retiring Products list and might even announce a new Stamps-N-Lingers ordering special!  So be watching your Inbox tomorrow, okay!?

My share for today is a clean and simple card that’s a little bit out of my wheelhouse – brighter colors and more….geometric-ness….than I usually use.  I borrowed a sentiment from the lovely Watercolor Wishes stamp set, and some Birthday Bouquet DSP.  Take a look-see:

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I played along with two challenges on this one – the design was a result of the MojoMonday challenge #443:

MM443 Sketch

…and my not-Mary’s-usual-color-scheme colors came from The Paper Player #290 – which I missed!  But you can go check out the winners here!

PP290 sketch
This one was quick and easy to put together!  I started by SNAILing a panel of one of my favorite things – White Corrugated Paper – to a mat of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  Then I cut a piece of Birthday Bouquet DSP – it’s a Mossy Meadow design – and SNAILd it on Pumpkin Pie as well.

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The sentiment, from Watercolor Wishes, is stamped in Melon Mambo on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then it’s matted on…can you guess??….Pumpkin Pie!

Getting a little creative with the banner element of the sketch, I wrapped a short length of Melon Mambo 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the polka dot panel, securing it with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  Then I trimmed each end to get that banner look.

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd the sentiment square over the top of the banner and then SNAILd the whole thing to the card front.

The two large circles are made from a striped and a polka dot design in the Color Me Irresistible DSP.  I sponged them both with some Pool Party and then offset-matted them on circles of Pumpkin Pie.  The smaller “dot” is a little bit of White Corrugated Paper (that I cut with one of the circles in the Pyramid Pals Thinlits set!), lightly sponged with Pool Party and matted on a 7/8″ Scallop Circle.

Watercolor Wishes 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I popped all three circles on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The final little bit was to add a Pumpkin Pie Designer Button with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I tied a little bow with some Basic Black/Melon Mambo Thick Baker’s Twine from the Occasions catalog, and adhered it to the button with a dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I tried about 12 times to stick the twine thru the button before I gave up and just glued it on! 🙂

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
With the front done, I got going on the inside of the card.  I SNAILd a strip of the Birthday Bouquet DSP to a little bit more Pumpkin Pie card stock and then SNAILd it all to a Whisper White panel.  Easy peasy!

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it to a Pumpkin Pie mat and then into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The Whisper White Medium Envelope got a little different treatment than usual (for me!).  In keeping with the geometric theme of the card, I used my Sponge Dauber to just add lots of Pool Party circles all over the front…

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and simply added a liner, cut with my Envelope Liner framelits, from another piece of the Birthday Bouquet DSP!

Watercolor Wishes Just a Note 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  A bright and cheery, clean and simple layered card, ready to send to just about anyone for just about any reason!  While it’s not my norm, it’s kind of grown on me!  I hope that you like it, too. 🙂

Tomorrow I have a fun shutter fold card for you – and a new Tutorial will post at the same time.  Hope to see you back!

It’s going to be good to be home, y’all!  My pre-order should get to the house on Tuesday, so I’ll get to start playing with some of the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalog products.  I can hardly wait to show them to you!

Can I get a Whooo-hoooo!!??! 😉

TTFN!

Mary
