Mornin’, y’all – it’s Thursday and that means it’s Blog Hop Day! Welcome back for another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop! I hope that once you’ve perused my offering you’ll check out all the other projects from the ladies-who-hop (and Sandi’s back!! 🙂 )! For the moment, grab a cuppa something cozy and settle in for a spell.
We all worked with a color challenge filled with bright colors – colors that just called me to the Have a Cuppa suite of goodies in the Occasions catalog.
See? So, I decided to make a thank you card – I’m always needing one for something these days! – and hit the Cups & Kettle Framelits and the A Nice Cuppa (that’s awkward phrasing, isn’t it??) stamp set that I got all bundled up. Take a look-see:
This one is easy peasy to make, thanks to the cool Cups & Kettle Framelit die set. And since I had the color combo all picked out for me….Q.E.D. I picked a couple of likely patterns from the Have A Cuppa DSP, and cut out two of the tea cup shapes (you can have coffee in them if you like – I do – but tea cup goes with the inside sentiment better!). I cut a third cup from Whisper White card stock. On that one, I stamped the Thank You greeting from One Big Meaning in Bermuda Bay. Then I lightly sponged the edges with Melon Mambo.
Just to add a little detail, I cut a couple of the included designs from Cups & Kettle – one in Whisper White (well, technically I suppose it’s two!) and one in Bermuda Bay. I used little dabs of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to their respective cups.
I dry-“stacked” the cups to get the exact tottering tower that I was looking for, then I picked the whole thing up, turned it upside down, and used a little scotch tape to tape them together. And I set them aside to make the card front.
I used a piece of Whisper White and cut the heart “steam” from Cups & Kettle in each of the corners. Then I SNAILd Bermuda Bay card stock behind them. I just used strips that were wide and long enough to completely cover the hearts – I used two pieces – one across the top and one across the bottom!
While I was at it – I did the whole thing again for the inside liner!
I SNAILd the prepped card front to a mat of Melon Mambo. Then I took the towering-taped-together-tea-toters, and popped them on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I cut a Wisteria Wonder Have a Cuppa DSP heart “steam” die cut and adhered it with Liquid Glue over the top cup. And that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I retrieved the second Whisper White panel that I’d made while I was doing the card front, and stamped the cute little sentiment from the A Nice Cuppa stamp set in Bermuda Bay.
Then I SNAILd that to a Melon Mambo mat and into my Wisteria Wonder card base. I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and this easy card was done! 🙂
For the envelope, I stamped the heart “steam” image from A Nice Cuppa in each of the three card colors – Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder and Bermuda Bay – on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. The stamp got a little over zealous (okay, maybe it was me!) and left me some little dots on the inside of the heart. So…I just owned it and added some more dots to each of the images, using the appropriately colored Stampin’ Write Markers. On one I even made a smiley face….
…and I used another piece of the Wisteria Wonder design from the Have a Cuppa DSP to add a liner, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelit!
Et Voila! This is such a fun die set – and it makes cards that are easy and cute. And fast – I promise the “hardest” part was lining up the little heart “steam” die in the corners of the Whisper White panels! 😉
I hope that you bought this cool bundle – if you didn’t, I hope that you will!
