Stampin’ Up! Honeycomb Happiness Thanks!

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  We’re sitting here on Tuesday evening hoping that the severe weather stays south of us – nothing worse than tornadoes in the middle of the night!  The horses are all snug in their bedrooms – we’ll probably only get some wind and rain and a light-show – but I always feel better knowing they’re relatively safe in their steel-boned structure.  And they like the occasional night in! 🙂

Today’s share is an ice-cream colored confection for sure.  I used one last piece of my beautiful Birthday Bouquet DSP to inspire the colors for this card.  I used two stamp sets – the Sale-A-Bration set called Honeycomb Happiness, and the pretty Cottage Greetings set from the Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

I played with the Stamp Ink Paper sketch Challenge #36 – which was a wide-open Card Maker’s Choice!

SIP #36

I started with the ice cream cone design paper from the Birthday Bouquet DSP and built up some mats to frame it.  I matted it on Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake, adhering it with SNAIL.

For the art piece, I used a panel of Whisper White card stock and stamped the ice cream cone from Honeycomb Happiness.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the stamp – using Crumb Cake on the cone portion and Mint Macaron on the ice cream scoop.  Oh, by the way – you can only get the Mint Macaron marker in the 2015-2017 In Color Stampin’ Write Marker set – which is a Weekly Deal right now! 🙂

After I stamped the image, I went back with my Soft Suede marker and highlighted the cone by drawing thin lines right next to the stamped image lines.  That just added a little depth to the cone

I added the Honeycomb Happiness sentiment in Blushing Bride ink over the top of the ice cream cone.  Then I matted the panel on Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake.

Before I added the final mat – I wrapped a length of Pink Pirouette 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon top to bottom around the layered panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I made a bow and secured it to the front with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  And at that point, I added the final mat – a piece of Blushing Bride card stock.Honeycomb Hello 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd the matted art to the front of the card – electing to not center it.  Just to be a little different.  And as soon as I did it – I was really glad I’d made that choice! 🙂

And then I set the whole thing aside!

Honeycomb Hello Thanks 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I used a piece of Shimmery White card stock and stamped the Thanks image from Cottage Greetings in the center.  This is such a pretty stamp set – the sentiments are great and the fonts are beautiful!

Then I added a thin – vertical – strip of the Birthday Bouquet matted on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock.  To finish the inside, I matted the panel on Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake and then SNAILd it into my Blushing Bride card base.

I SNAILd the card front on – and then added a Honeycomb Embellishment.  To do that, I used a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue on one side of the closed honeycomb and adhered it over the stamped scoop.  Once it dried, I added a couple of Glue Dots on the other side and gently opened the embellishment and stuck it down.

And that was it for the card!

I made a “box” envelope for this highly embellished and “thick” card, using the Simply Scored tool and a piece of Mint Macaron 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper!  Now.  I think the envelope paper is awesome, but it’s a little thin for this kind of envelope.  It would be much sturdier using a regular Designer Series Paper.  So, when you make a box envelope, use some DSP, okay? 🙂  I’ll be adding a Tutorial for you here in a few days!

But for now, here’s how it turned out:

Et Volia!  A pretty and dimensional card to let someone know that you think they’re great!

I hope that you’re thinking about all the reasons that joining an Online Host Club would be a great idea for you! 😉  Check down below for all the details – we’re starting up soon!

Tomorrow is Happy Stamper Blog Hop day – it’s a color challenge this week (Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride and Mossy Meadow – a super pretty combo!).  We’ll be live at 7am Eastern – so be sure to come on back, okay?

ONLINE HOST CLUB STARTING IN JUST 7 DAYS!

Online Host Club Logo

The Stamps-N-Lingers Online Host Club is a great way for you to garner Host benefits without even “doing” a workshop! We’re talking Stampin’ Rewards Dollars and access to exclusive Host sets (plus a few added bennies tossed in)! And it’s easy peasy….

  • Each Club consists of 6 people who each commit to purchasing at least $25 in product each month for 6 consecutive months. Each month, one person will be the “host” of that month’s workshop – I’ll do a random draw of all your names at the beginning of the club period – that way everyone will know which month will be “theirs”!
  • I’ll mail the host code to everyone on the first of each month and then everyone just applies that host code to their order by the 20th. Then the host and I will figure her order together at the end of the month.  Each month the host will have earned at least $15 in Host/Stampin’ Reward dollars!
  • During your participation in the Online Club, I’ll be giving you DOUBLE Peppermint reward points! So – your $25 order will get you TWO peppermints each month, versus the normal one.  Order $50 and get four peppermints!  $75 – you’ll get six…
  • At the end of the 6 months – I’ll give each participant the stamp set of their choice (up to $20) as a thank you for participating.
