Stampin’ Up! Over the Rainbow Hello!

Good Sunday to y’all.  I’ll make it quick and easy for you today so that you can get on with your weekend!

Today’s card is a clean and simple, lightly layered – one might even say barely layered! – note card suitable for just about any kind of a day.  Need to say “hey!”?  This is the card.  Need to tell someone you were thinking about them?  Here you go!

I used a swoopy swatch image from the Over the Rainbow stamp set and a die cut from the Greetings Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

For this card, I was playing along with the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #160….you’ve still got time to play, too!

CTS #160 Sketch

My color scheme is pretty simple and kind of classic.  I used Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray.  Yes, I know that the gray looks a little like black in my pictures.  My lighting is kind of driving me crazy in my new stamping set-up.  It works great for actually working, but I’ve yet to find the sweet spot for photos!  Be patient with me, okay? 🙂

I used the swatch image from Over the Rainbow and stamped my colors repeatedly on my panel of Whisper White card stock.  For the front of the card, I stamped the images full strength.  I repeated the color rotation – Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray (this is the Basic Gray Archival ink) – and kept that going with my sentiment.

Over the Rainbow 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I cut the sentiment using the Greetings Thinlits – I cut two from Basic Gray card stock and one from Melon Mambo.  I layered them up, adhering them together with my Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  If you were here in person, you’d see that when you look at the card, you can just barely see the Melon Mambo layer on the bottom! 🙂

Using a couple of Glue Dots on the back of my layered sentiment, I wound some Silver Metallic Thread around the back of the sentiment.  Silver just seems to go with these three colors.  I used more of the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the sentiment to the card front.

I SNAILd the panel to a mat of Melon Mambo and set it aside.

For the inside, I repeated the three colors in the center of a Whisper White panel.  This time, though, I stamped each image off once before stamping inside the card.  I decided that it needed a little something more….so, I pulled one of the sentiments from One Big Meaning.  Using my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker, I inked up just the word “You” and stamped it in the center of my color swathes – using my trusty Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.

Over the Rainbow Hello 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd it to a Melon Mambo mat and then into a Whisper White Note Card.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel just for a little touch of inner bling.  Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and added one more little bit of bling with another Rhinestone Basic Jewel to finish it off.

For the envelope (it’s the Note Card envelope that comes in the pack), I repeated the stamped-off-once swathes on the front…

…and added a liner made from a Melon Mambo design in the Brights Backgrounds DSP stack (yes, the Envelope Liner Framelits even has a die for the note card sized envelopes!).

Et Voila!  Quick and easy peasy!  And a great CAS card to have in your stash!

Hope that you have a great rest of your weekend and I’ll be back in your inbox bright and early on Monday! 🙂
