Stampin’ Up! An Easy Peasy Little Something Halloween Treat Bag

I’m taking the train.

I’m done with airplanes.

I’m a pilot.

I’m pretty afeared of riding on trains.

But, I’m taking the train.

On my flight home yesterday, a 757-200 (I tell you this so you can be forewarned) – I discovered there were no air vents overhead.  Called “gaspers” if you’re interested.  The little doodads that you can twist and direct to get cool air.

Gone.

Didn’t exist.  There was a reading light for each of us.  A Call button.  No gasper.  Even the Flight Attendant was surprised.

So – I alternately sweltered and froze.  For about 4 hours.  In the middle seat.

I’m taking my chances with a derailment.  Surely the odds of that are way lower than the odds of a miserable flight – which is pretty much 100%!

So there.  That’ll show ’em!  They’re gonna be so sorry when they lose my business.  Watch for the impending demise of the commercial airline industry! 😉

On to my share.  It’s a quickie today.  Another of the cute projects we made at the World Card Making Day Atlanta 2015.  This one goes together so quickly – you can knock a whole bunch out and move on with the remainder of your Halloween preparations!  Take a look-see:

Something For You Halloween Treat 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

We started by snipping out the center of a Spider Web doily.  This is easy – just take your time!  Then, we cut out a circle from the front of a Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bag (you get 10 bags for $3.50) using the 3rd from the center Circles Collection Framelit die (that’s about a 1 7/8″ diameter circle). Hardest part here is making sure you get the hole in the center of the bag so there’s room for your doily!

I used my Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to put really tiny dots of glue all over the back of the doily and adhered it to the Kraft Gift Bag.

Using our Tangerine Tango Ink Pad and a Sponge Dauber, we sponged the front of a Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bag (10 for $4.00).  All you do is stick that bag (after it dries a minute!) into the Kraft Bag and….instant orange window! 🙂

I stamped a veritable swarm of adorable spiders all over the bag, using Basic Black Archival Ink.  The spiders are just one of the cute little images in A Little Something.  You also get leaves and snowflakes!

Something for You Halloween Treat 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the cute embellishment, we stuck a short piece of Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tape onto a Stampin’ Up! Clothespin.  The sentiment is from A Little Something.  We covered the “Trick or” portion of the stamp with some scotch tape, inked the “Treat” up with the Basic Black Archival Ink, and stamped it onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock.  We hand-trimmed it down to a little flag with banner ends on both ends using our Paper Snips.

To assemble the embellishment, we doubled up a length of Tangelo Twist 5/8″ Striped Cotton Ribbon, added a little bit of Silver Sequin Trim and stapled it all together with the sentiment banner using the Handeld Stapler.  I gave the ribbon banner ends with my Paper Snips.

A Little Something Halloween Treat 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

All that was left to do was to clip the embellishment to the bag with the Washi-fied Clothespin…

Something For You Halloween Treat 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…Et voila!  A super cute, super easy, super fast and pretty danged inexpensive little treat bag, just begging for a Chocolate Chip Cookie or a Rice Krispie Treat or almost any other fun Halloween treat!  Fun, huh?

Here’s a little BIG news!  We just got this word this morning from Stampin’ Up!:

  1. Such a cute bag! Love the spiders that you stamped all over it! 🙂

  2. Mom

I think you have nailed Halloween! Middle seat…huh-uh. Reminds me of a flight that I got off of once, much to your Dad’s embaprrassment. And there was a gasper.

  3. Such a cute treat bag! I love how you used the striped ribbon. I am going to use that idea, I have had a hard time using some of it. That is great! (Love the spiders, too)
