Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I saw that one of our colors for the challenge this week was Blueberry Bushel – I immediately pulled the new Blueberry Bunches stamp set (coming soon in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini catalog) off my shelf. Yes. I know. Real outside the box thinking, right?!? Cuz I like new things – I ALSO pulled out the Everyday Details Die set! Then I grabbed some Meandering Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP (available right now in the Online Exclusives) and a few other goodies and…got busy. Take a look-see:
And – here’s our color challenge.
The layout for this one is from the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.
And I also selected some elements for the card thanks to the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Board this week. I went down the right column (green – Patterned paper – Die Cut) and across the bottom row (Free – Embellishment – Die Cut).
First, I adhered a 3/4″ wide strip of Shaded Spruce Textured Shimmer Paper on a diagonal across a piece of the beautiful Meandering Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP – with both ends hanging off the DSP panel. I adhered a 1″ wide strip of the Meandering Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP slightly overlapping the Shimmer strip.
Using my Paper Trimmer, I cut off the excess paper and then adhered the panel onto a Crushed Curry mat for the card front.
Using the new Everyday Details dies, I cut out a piece of (mostly!) Granny Apple Green paper from the Meandering Meadow DSP using the two largest circle dies. I used both dies at once – and it resulted in a circular frame – and a smaller solid circle (with some “stitch” holes in it).
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut circle frame to the card front.
Using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut a Crushed Curry circle and adhered it “inside” the frame. Then I adhered the Meandering Meadow DSP circle with Liquid Glue.
Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a loop-d-loop of Parakeet Party 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the large Blueberry Bunches blueberry image twice and the smaller blueberry image once in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I put a few drops of Blueberry Bushel Re-inker on an acrylic block and, using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, colored all the blueberries. I did the same with Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce Re-inker – and then colored all the leaves.
Then – brace yourself – I fussy cut all three images. Sorry! 😎
I cut one of the large images into a couple of pieces – separating leaves and berries – and then started adhering to the card front.
I added the “whole” large blueberry bunch with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added some of the leaves that I’d cut off the second large image with Liquid Glue.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the small bunch.
On a strip of Crushed Curry cardstock, I stamped the Blueberry Bunches sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink. I cut banner ends and then adhered it with Liquid Glue and a couple of dimensionals under each end.
I tucked the final blueberry bunch (from the image that I cut apart) in with a little Liquid Glue.
Finally, I added some Melon Mambo Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the small Blueberry Bunches image in Tuxedo Black and colored it with the Clear Wink Glitter Brush and Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce Re-Inker. Then I added some more Melon Mambo Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Blueberry Bunches image stamped and colored on the front…
…and more of the Meandering Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The Blueberry Bunches stamp set is gorgeous and makes “summer on a card”, don’t you think? And I’ve barely scratched the surface of the coolness in the Everyday Details die set – I can’t wait to use it more and more! Meandering Meadow DSP – available right now in the Online Exclusives – is simply…stunning!
