Stampin’ Up! Special Reason Birthday for a Special Friend!

Happy Monday, y’all!  Hope your weekend was good!  My first couple of days bach’n it were good!  Got my errands done, made some cards, played with the dog, did a little live video…

Oh yea, that happened.  By the time you read this, I’ll have done my first Facebook Live video.

And it was awesome!  I was amazed at how much fun I had doing it – thanks, Amy, for helping me ahead of time and letting me settle into the video!  And thanks to all the ladies who joined and made comments and asked questions!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

In case you want to watch how to make this card (fast forward to about 3:30 unless you just want to watch my pre-video goofiness!)….the card cuts and products you need are still listed below!

So, I had planned a card to use for the video – one I’d posted a few weeks back.  But, while I was making today’s card, I decided to use it instead!  I really wanted to share a card using one of my very favorite bundles – the Special Reason bundle in the Occasions catalog!  Take a look-see:

My layout is based on the sketch from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

The color scheme – which is real similar to yesterday’s palette – is from the TGIFC Color Challenge.

And I also played along with The Paper Players Theme Challenge.

I started this one with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, and a matching-size piece of Calypso Coral and So Saffron paper from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP.  Using the largest solid flower die from the Stylish Stems Framelits, I cut it from the Very Vanilla panel.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Very Vanilla panel to the DSP panel. I popped the card front onto a So Saffron mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I ran a length of Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine down the long side of the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

Using the largest detailed flower die, I cut a flower from a piece of So Saffron card stock.  Using little dabs of Liquid Glue, I adhered it inside the cut out flower in the Very Vanilla panel.

I cut a small solid flower from some of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and a small detailed flower from So Saffron card stock, and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

Since I just couldn’t resist, I cut some leaves from a piece of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper – two large and two small.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the large flowers to the card front and then popped the small flower over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I cut a strip of Very Vanilla card stock and cut the ends with my Banner Triple Punch.  Then, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the sentiment from the Special Reason stamp set in Bermuda Bay.  I popped that sentiment onto a So Saffron mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere the two little Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper leaves to the end of the sentiment banner and stuck on a little Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine bow with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again to stamp two more sentiments in Bermuda Bay in the center of a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top, I stamped a small Special Reason flower in So Saffron, stamping it off once before stamping the panel.

I SNAILd the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Bermuda Bay card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a few Special Reason flowers on the front in So Saffron and Calypso Coral, using my sticky note mask…

…and I added some more of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP to the envelope flap (yea, I was out of the design I used on the card!).

Et Voila!  I just love this Special Reason bundle – the flowers are so much fun to make and I think they’re some of the prettiest we have!  Hope you like – and I hope you’ve gotten this set for yourself.  If you haven’t… best get on it!

Hard To Believe, But…

…It’s getting close to Retirement Time, folks!

As you no-doubt know, we have our Classic Colors that stay with us year after year, and then we have two color collections that we enjoy for two years and then they’re gone!

We’ve been loving these 2015-2017 In Colors for almost 2 years now…I’m sure going to miss Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder!…but it’s getting close to time to wish them farewell!

And that means it’s time for you to start getting stocked up on your favorite color card stock, re-inkers, Designer Papers, Ribbons and Embellishments in these colors before they retire and/or sell-out!  Re-inkers and card stock typically sell out fast as retirement nears!  This is a really great time to do it, too, cuz you can still take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration benefits!

Here’s a link directly to the 2015 – 2017 In Color Collection – Happy Shopping!

FINN-FAN FIX….

As you guys might imagine – my cats like yoghurt.  They sit and stare at me when I’m eating a carton, waiting for me to place it on the floor for them to lick clean.

Well, Finn likes anything they’re eating, or I’m eating, or…the horses are eating!

On Sunday I bought a couple of tubs of Noosa yoghurt.  One of them was Blackberry-Serrano.  Unusual flavor, so I had to give it a try!  And it’s really good!  Sweet, with just a little kick of heat from the Serrano.

Definitely not something I figured Finn would like.

But he asked.  And asked.  And then made an impassioned plea involving starvation and never getting anything good and nobody loves him….so I let him try it.  Figuring he’d take a lick and decide I was a bad mother for letting him try it and that would be it.

I was wrong.

Very very wrong.

He licked that booger so clean I just stuck it right in the cabinet to use for leftovers!

Haha.  Just kidding, of course.  That’s ridiculous.

The leftover-tubs go in the drawer! 😉
