Stampin’ Up! Best Delivery for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I had a fun set waiting for me to ink it up and I decided this was the day!  I created a card using the fun little Best Delivery stamp set that would be a great birthday card for anyone – or…change up the inside sentiment to make a Valentine’s card!  Simply Marbleous DSP seemed like the perfect backdrop.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

And I used the Sunday Stamps color challenge for my color palette!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of gray Simply Marbleous DSP to a Merry Merlot mat for the card front.  You know this paper – it’s FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration…which ends on 28 Feb.  So…if you don’t have it yet…time’s a-wastin’!

I wrapped some black-and-white twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack twice around the panel – securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.

I put a Basic White panel into my Stamparatus and stamped the truck image from Best Delivery in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Using Melon Mambo ink, I stamped the hearts image coming out of the back of the truck – it’s perfectly made to do that – and photopolymer, so it’s easy to get lined up!

Then I used the single heart image and stamped it several times “inside” the truck in Melon Mambo – some of the hearts are full strength and some are stamped off once.

I wanted to be sure to get a good, dark image with the sentiment, so I put the panel back in the Stamparatus and stamped the Best Delivery sentiment in Merry Merlot.

I stamped the single heart in stamped-off-once Merry Merlot on the door of the truck, then used my Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend to color the rest of the door.

There’s a little image in the Best Delivery set that makes “road” – so I stamped it twice under the wheels in Basic Gray ink.

I adhered the panel to a piece of Merry Merlot cardstock and popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a simple bow around the twine on the right side of the panel – and the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Best Delivery on a piece of Basic White.  I inked the top of the sentiment in Merry Merlot and stamped it.  Then I cleaned the stamp, inked the bottom portion in Melon Mambo and stamped it right back in place.  I added a single heart in stamped-off-once Merry Merlot.  In the corner, I stamped the Best Delivery balloons image in Melon Mambo.

Now – if you needed a Valentine’s card…pull a Valentine’s sentiment from another set (Sweet Conversations comes to mind!) and stamp it in Merry Merlot.  Add the single stamped-off-once heart in Merry Merlot, then use the hearts image in the corner in Melon Mambo.  Easy peasy!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Best Delivery balloons in Melon Mambo on the front…

…and more of the Simply Marbleous DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! This Best Delivery set is kind of a fly-over – but it’s awfully cute, don’t you think?  I love the balloons and the hearts and the way they’re perfectly made to come out the back of the truck – or sit in the corner of an envelope! And the Simply Marbleous DSP – in addition to being FREE! – is so stinkin’ pretty and fun to use! 🙂

I hope you like!
