Stampin’ Up! Special Delivery In The City Sneak Peek

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  By the time you read this, we’ll be on the way to the horse-pital (we called it that when I was growing up – I have no idea why!) or – if you’re a late riser/reader, we’ll be in surgery.  By we, I mean…Wayne! I know he’s going to be a lot more relaxed once he’s asleep.  I know I will be! 😉

I made a quick little card for you today with a new Host-Exclusive stamp set that will be available on 1 June, called In The City.  It.  Is.  Very.  Fun!!

The In The City stamp is the total focus for this card – but I borrowed a tiny bit of paper from the Birthday Memories DSP.  Take a look-see

I played with a few challenges on this one.  The first, the Sunday Stamps challenge, is for the layout.

I borrowed my color scheme from the MFT Color Challenge.

Finally – I think this one fits with The Paper Players Clean-and-Simple Challenge this week.

I started with a Whisper White panel and stamped the stork image from In The City all over it with Versamark Ink, and then I SNAILd it on a Pacific Point mat.

For the next layer, I used a piece of Daffodil Delight paper from the Birthday Memories DSP, cut into a banner with my Banner Triple Punch and then matted on a similarly punched piece of Pacific Point.  Then I SNAILd the banner to the card front.

I used a little bit of Liquid Glue to adhere a Lace Doily white side up to the banner.

My sentiment is cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle in Whisper White.  Using the fun little images in the In The City stamp set, I added the outline images in Basic Black Archival Ink around the circle.  The sun is stamped in Daffodil Delight, as is the fill-in of the house.  The car fill in is in Pacific Point and – oddly! – I have Tangerine Tango trees.  I used my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker to color the baby blanket and my Pumpkin Pie marker to color the trim on the house.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink.

I decided to stamp a second house on a scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut it – then popped it over the house on the circle with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Then I popped the sentiment circle over the Doily with more Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside. I stamped a second In The City sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink on a Whisper White panel.  Then I made another little city-scene across the bottom – coloring my Basic Black Archival Ink houses, cars and trees with stamped-off-once Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie and Pacific Point.  I even added another Daffodil Delight sun!  The houses’ trims are colored in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.

I SNAILd the panel to a Pacific Point mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more houses and such across the front…

…and I added some more Birthday Memories DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Volia!  Easy squeezy nice and easy!  Love this little Host Set!  Hope you like and are figuring out how to get yours as soon as you can!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Last Finn update for a day or two!

We dropped him at Dog Camp yesterday afternoon!

He was ecstatic to see his new human friend and meet a new new human friend!  And see Ryder.

Those Beagles, though – they kinda bamboozled him.  He made the mistake of looking sideways at one of their dinner bowls.

Holy shimoly shameele!  The baying and yowling and scolding and dog-shouting…poor Finn just looked at me like…. what the….??

Soon after, though – all was forgiven.

Dogs forgive pretty quickly.  Humans should take heed! 🙂
