Oh my goodness! Made my mouth water even at 7:45 in the morning! …the brisket that is, although the card is lovely too. You lucky ducks:)
    I know how Finn feels…
    Thanks for the smile Mary!
    Sue

    • stampsnlingers

It’s hard to wait on it – a true exercise in patience, for sure!! Thanks, Sue! 🙂

  2. Susan K

Cute card, even if it is CAS! 😂 TFS. I’m with the Man—just one more bite please! 1/2# bags sure wouldn’t be big enough for me!

    • stampsnlingers

It is SO good, there’s no doubt!! 🙂 Glad you like the card – thanks, Susan! 🙂

  3. Your card is lovely, Mary! I love the Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake together!

I’m so happy Finn got some brisket trimmings! But you’re right…it’s never enough! LOL…

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Carol! Finn’s capacity for brisket it…HUGE! 🙂

  4. HA! Gilding a sow’s ear! Good one and I hadn’t heard that before.
Poor Finn, just has to drool and hope Dad, or someone tosses a tidbit now and then. If begging eyes worked…..Always good to have food in the freezer, ready when needed.
Oh, yes, pretty card too! love that timber embossing folder, and you can’t go wrong with pine boughs.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – they work. More than they should, I’m sure! Yep- brisket in the freezer is my oh-no-it’s-dinner-time-and-I-haven’t-a-clue go-to!! Thanks! Julie! 🙂

  5. This is such a pretty card! Love that metallic ornament and the beautiful pine boughs peeking out! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  6. This is beautiful and elegant! All the elements work so perfectly together. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Karren – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. How clever, unique and beautiful. I must try that but I don’t have much luck with my white craft ink for some reason.

    • stampsnlingers

Make sure it’s juicy – or it’ll fade too much! Have fun with it! 🙂 Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  8. Love, love, love your card! The muted white stamping is so pretty! 😀 And yeah, a laptop is a good place to warm your chin and catch the occasional snooze. 😉

  9. I love this card so much! Great use of the white ink and so, so pretty!

Finn is such a sweet boy! If he can’t be touching Mom, then the next best thing is to be touching Mom’s laptop! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yup – until he gets too hot he can be a snuggle-bug! Thanks so much, Carol! 🙂

  10. Kate

    I have a laptop he can have…😏

  11. Gail S.

I’m definitely going to try this one for next Christmas—I need to increase my CAS ones and this one is lovely! So glad Finn got some tidbits. I’m sure I could almost smell the smoking from here–I have to make do with liquid smoke in the oven brisket. But it works!

    • stampsnlingers

It did smell good and the waiting was a booger!! Thanks so much, Gail! Have fun with this card! 🙂

  12. Such a cute card! Love the colors and fun mix of designer papers. Yep, it’s always a tough decision…should I stay or should I go?? 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

He stayed. 😉 He knows which side his bread is buttered on. And..he’s a bit of a mama’s boy! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  13. Such a pretty and fun card, Mary!

  14. Gail S.

Definitely giving this a try, maybe also on navy with snowflakes. I think there’ something about laptops that bring about quite a few unexpected snoozes! Cause you can get comfortable when using them.

    • stampsnlingers

Ooooh! White on Navy would be wunnermus!! Thanks! And yes – I have been known to “rest my eyes” while using the laptop, for sure! 🙂

  15. Linda Callahan

  20. Oh my word! You’ve done it again! This card is stunning, Mary! Just gorgeous!

  21. Faith Simpson

Such a pretty card!! I don’t like to be cold….and it doesn’t snow here…..so I don’t do snow cards! But I have to admit, snow cards are VERY pretty!!

    • stampsnlingers

I don’t like to be cold, either! But I do like snow. On a card. Or in a movie! 🙂 Thanks, Faith! 🙂

Hi Mary, I am not replying to your updates. you asked me what slippery pot pie is, just as you were finishing your “live” the other day. I tried to answer, but here it is again. I discovered this when we moved to Maryland from New York. Slippery pot pie is more like a soup. It is usually chicken or ham, but can be beef or turkey as well. Simple ingredients: the meat, maybe some potatoes and onions (and rarely, carrots), and the star is the noodles. The dough is always homemade and is similar to a pie crust, rolled out and cut into squares or wide strips that are added to the boiling chicken broth with meat, etc., like you would add dumplings. The finished broth is much like a thin gravy. How it came to be called “pie,” I don’t know, but probably because the dough is like a pie dough??This is very popular here in Western Maryland and also may have roots in Pennsylvania Dutch country. Now, should I tell you what I found out about steamers?? Lol. Hope to see you live tonight because I have become a major fan.

Well however it got its name – it sounds pretty yummy! And I appreciate you taking the time to tell me what it is!! 🙂

  39. What a great holiday fun fold card, Mary! Love the mix of papers. I have to smile because you reminded me that my very first easel card was – accidentally – made in this reverse style! I just couldn’t wrap my head around the front panel standing up without support at the top. LOL Thank you for playing at Creative Creases Challenge and hope you can join in again soon.
