Stampin’ Up! Feathers & Frost for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a sketch challenge and I know you’ll see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I recently added a few ( 😉 ) things to my stash from the 2018 Holiday Catalog – one of which is the pretty Feathers & Frost stamp set.  So I used it, along with a little Frosted Floral Specialty DSP to make today’s offering.  Take a look-see:

Here’s the sketch we were all working with…tip your head to the side.  You’ll see it!

And I also got a little help with my color scheme from this week’s color challenge from The Paper Players to make my non-tradionally colored Christmas card.

I started with a piece of Mint Macaron paper from the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP and matted it on Crumb Cake for the card front.  The next layer – also from Frosted Floral – is a Blackberry Bliss paper, matted on Crumb Cake and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art, I stamped the floral frame from the Feathers & Frost stamp set in Mint Macaron on a Whisper White rectangle.  I inked half the image at a time and stamped it twice.

If you’re following along, you know that means there’s a gap in the image – under the sentiment.  Yes.  That’s how you make a square image into a rectangular image! 😉

I colored the leaves with my Soft Sea Foam Light and Dark Stampin Blends, and colored the little berries with my Dark Petal Pink Blend.  The sentiment, from Feathers & Frost, is stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The second portion of the sentiment is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a Crumb Cake strip that I bannerized the ends of with my Paper Snips.

On a piece of scrap Whisper White, I stamped three flowers and a leaf image from Feathers & Frost in Crumb Cake.  I colored them with Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink Blends, then fussy cut them.  I also punched three Sprig Punch leaves from Vellum card stock, two of which I adhered to the art panel with Liquid Glue.  Then I used a few Glue Dots to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon over the sprigs (and the image gap! 😉 ).

I put a few Glue Dots on the back of the sentiment strip and used them to wind some Gold Metallic Thread, then to adhere the strip to the Burlap Ribbon.  With Liquid Glue, I added a couple of the fussy cut flowers, then added the final Vellum Sprig and popped the last flower on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I finished the card front off with a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in Petal Pink and Mint Macaron.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Feathers & Frost in Blackberry Bliss on a Whisper White panel.  I added a couple of flowers in Crumb Cake and colored them with my Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few more Feathers & Frost flowers on the front…

…and I added a little more Frosted Floral Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Feathers & Frost stamp set is a bit of a sleeper – easy to pass by in the catalog.  But – it’s so pretty – and I haven’t even used the sweet little bird images that are also in the set!  I hope you like – and that you’ll take a gander at it!
