Stampin’ Up! Hello From That’s The Tag Butterflies

Hey, ya’ll – good morning!  It’s Sunday.  And – for some of you – a day you’ve been waiting for.  And a day that I welcome with….trepidation!

Tonight, I’m going to attempt my first Facebook Live video with…whoever shows up!  I’ll be muddling my way thru a card – one you’ve seen before, but you’ll get to see step-by-step instructions for making it.  I’ll be going Live at 8pm Eastern Time (you’ll need to do the math for wherever you are!) on my Facebook Page.  Here’s a link.

Now.  Please be aware that I’m a Facebook neophyte!  I think you need to Like and Follow my page – and then you should get a notice when I go live.  Hopefully you’ll be able to come on and see me stumbling about – if not, the video should stay up so you can see it.

Fingers crossed, y’all!  And – if you get there while I’m live, leave a comment – I’ll try to actually read them while card-making! 🙂

So for my card today, I used the pretty That’s The Tag stamp set and the matching Timeless Tags Thinlits (available in a bundle for a 10% savings!).  Along with the bundle, I used a little Cupcakes & Carousels DSP, and two embossing folders.  Take a look-see:

This layout is inspired by this week’s challenge at Mojo Monday.

And I took my color palette from the Sunday Stamps color challenge.

So, I started out with a Very Vanilla panel, matted on Calypso Coral, for the card front.  I stamped the little corner flourish image from That’s The Tag in So Saffron in each corner.  Then I cut a smaller panel and embossed it in the Petal Burst TIEF, then adhered it embossed-side up to the center of the card front (with no mat, for a tone-on-tone textured look).

Next, I took a strip of Very Vanilla and, using the burlap image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, stamped it all over in Sahara Sand.  Then I matted it on Calypso Coral and SNAILd it to the card front.

Over the burlap-stamped strip, I laid a piece of Mint Macaron 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon, securing it in back with scotch tape.  I added a piece of Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine, wrapped twice and secured in back with tape.

I made two more panels, both matted on Calypso Coral.  One is a piece of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP.  The other is a piece of Very Vanilla, embossed in the Fluttering TIEF and adhered de-bossed side up.

I pulled out the That’s The Tag stamp set and stamped the dotted circle image in Calypso Coral ink on Calypso Coral card stock and cut it out with a scalloped Circles Layering Framelit die.  At this point, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the two matted panels and this circle together in the orientation I’d decided on.  Then I popped the whole thing (all three pieces stuck together) over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, also from That’s The Tag, is three images.  First I stamped the dotted banner image in Mint Macaron on Very Vanilla.  Then I cut that out with the die from Timeless Tags.  I added the sentiment in Calypso Coral, inking only the word “hello” on the “hello, little baby” image. Finally, I added the little hearts in Bermuda Bay.  I popped the sentiment over the Calypso Coral circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow with more Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Finally, I cut some Bermuda Bay and Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper butterflies with the so-cute die in the Timeless Tags Thinlits, and adhered them willy-nilly with Liquid Glue to finish off the card front.

On the inside, I added more of the That’s The Tag corner flourishes in So Saffron on a Very Vanilla panel.  And I cut 4 Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper butterflies – the smallest in the Timeless Tags Thinlits die – and adhered them in the corner with Liquid Glue.

I matted the panel on Calypso Coral and into my Sahara Sand card base, SNAILd the card front on and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the So Saffron corner flourishes and some Bermuda Bay hearts on the front…

…and I added more of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This one has a lot of elements but it was easy to make.  It’s just layering, after all!  Hope you like!

Hard To Believe, But…

…It’s getting close to Retirement Time, folks!

2015-2017-in-color-collection

As you no-doubt know, we have our Classic Colors that stay with us year after year, and then we have two color collections that we enjoy for two years and then they’re gone!

We’ve been loving these 2015-2017 In Colors for almost 2 years now…I’m sure going to miss Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder!…but it’s getting close to time to wish them farewell!

And that means it’s time for you to start getting stocked up on your favorite color card stock, re-inkers, Designer Papers, Ribbons and Embellishments in these colors before they retire and/or sell-out!  Re-inkers and card stock typically sell out fast as retirement nears!  This is a really great time to do it, too, cuz you can still take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration benefits!

FINN-FAN FIX….

Well, Finn-y and I spent Saturday “working”!

We went to the mailbox twice to mail catalogs and customer ordering thank you gifts (twice cuz the Mom forgot some things on the first trip!) so he got a good couple of trots on top of his usual morning perambulations.

Then I came in to work on cards – and worry about my video tomorrow (today!) – and Finn…went on guard.

I see you, Mom.  You do your thing and I’ll do mine!

No.  Please don’t ask me to come in.  I’d hate to refuse your command.

But I for sure will.

Cuz….nice day! And… I’m a dog.

A guard dog.  Don’t mess with me.

Rest easy, Mom.  I’ve got this!

Ahhhh…ready for your close-up!!! Break a leg. Whoever thought THAT was a good send -off for a performer needs to catch a clue. So I won’t say it. Will just be confidant, as always, that you will do good.
And it does me good to see Finn on the job of lookin’ out!

    • Ha – I’m sure there’s some deep, historical theatrical background, but it does seem pretty counter-productive! I feel very safe, indeed, with my sturdy guard dog at the ready! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
