Stampin’ Up! CAS Cheerful Daisies Made My Day Card

Good morning and welcome back to the work week! Did you have a good weekend?  We didn’t do much other than the wedding and a trip to Costco and Sams on Sunday – had to re-stock the basics that I’d whittled down before our trip!

My card today is a pretty direct contrast to the wedding card I made for you yesterday – where that one was all about the layers and using lots of different products – this one is clean and simple and quick!  It uses just some stamping from the Cheerful Daisies set, a little Cane Weave embossing, and… a couple of Stylish Shapes die cuts.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And the summery color palette is from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

I started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder and then matting it on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock for the card front.

I took a piece of Lemon Lolly Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP – it started as 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ – and cut it on the diagonal with my Paper Trimmer. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the triangle onto the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the larger flower from Cheerful Daisies in Lemon Lolly – using full strength ink for the outline, the fill and the flower center.

I used my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker to add some little lines for shading at the base of the petals!

I stamped a Lemon Lime Twist stem and a couple of leaves – then cut it out with the largest Stylish Shapes square die.

I popped the square onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Cheerful Daisies sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes label die.

I used Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the sentiment to the card front.

I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Cheerful Daisies flower in Lemon Lolly on a piece of Basic White cardstock – and added the Daffodil Delight shading lines with the Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into my Lemon Lolly card base – popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!

Now – I ALSO made a second card – it’s on the video (link below) – that uses Lemon Lime Twist DSP on the card front – and reverses the mat and card base colors.

Which do you like better?? 🙂

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Cheerful Daisies flower on the front…

…and some Lemon Lime Twist Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is summer-on-a-card, don’t you think?!  Cheerful Daisies is such a gorgeous stamp set – it’s perfect even without the bundled dies!  And I love the Cane Weave 3D Embossing – it’s very….organic…and perfect for this card.

Finn Fan Fix

So…several of you noticed that we never saw Finn in the bone-shaped pool at Camp Mimi – not even once in the whole two weeks he was there. 🤷‍♀️

I actually asked them about it and – sure enough – he never swam once.  They said that the pool is pretty hectic – and it’s not huge – so they thought he might have been a little intimidated by it.

Valid thought.

ORRRRRRR….

He was taking on the role of life guard and being sure everyone was safe! 😉

Keeping an eye on all the goings on.

Tidying up.

I think this is the MUCH more likely scenario, don’t you?

He IS a nanny-dog, after all. 😉
