Good morning at the end of yet another week! Time is slipping by – I’m both excited that the trip is fast approaching and terrified that the trip is fast approaching! There seems to be a never-ending list of things to do to be ready to go – I cross one thing off and add two more at the bottom! Yikes! But – the 16th will arrive and we’ll get on the plane and…execute the plan! As with any plan – it likely won’t survive first contact but…we’ll be DOING and not PLANNING! Yeah! 🙂
Fortunately – my card today is one that, if you’re like me – with more to do than you have time to do! – you’ll be able to pull together in a heartbeat – and it’s gorgeous! All thanks to the brand new Countryside Inn DSP and the carrying over Around the Bend stamp set and coordinating Dies! Take a look-see:
Oh – did I forget to mention that it’s a fun fold? This is called a Joy Fold and it’s one of my faves! And since it IS a fun fold – I’m entering it in the Creative Creases challenge!
And I also played along with The Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge this week…I went right down the middle!
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock that I scored and folded at 3″ on the long side. This is the “large card base”. A 3″ x 9″ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, folded at 4 1/2″ on the long side, is the “small card base”. 😎
I matted a small piece of Countryside Inn DSP on Balmy Blue and adhered it to the small front panel of the large card base, and a second larger piece (striped) for the back.
The small card base is where all the fun happens!
I stamped the sentiment from Around the Bend in Night of Navy ink on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the corner leaves image – also in Night of Navy.
Using the Around the Bend Dies, I cut out a Basic White flower, Balmy Blue (2) and Boho Blue (2) leaves, and a Balmy Blue flower center.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the die cut leaves to the panel – then popped the flower on with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the die cut flower center with Liquid Glue.
I added a few Boho Blue Adhesive-backed Solid Gems and the small card front was done.
I matted the panel on Misty Moonlight and adhered it to the small card front with Liquid Glue.
For the inside, I stamped a second Around the Bend sentiment in Night of Navy on a Basic White panel. Next to it, I added a cute little flower image in Boho Blue.
I matted the panel on Misty Moonlight and adhered it to the inside of the small card base with Liquid Glue.
To assemble the card, I put Liquid Glue on the back of the small card base and adhered it in the center of the back panel on the large base.
The flaps “interlock” with each other – that’s the Joy Fold…done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Around the Bend flower in Boho Blue on the front…
…and more of that wunnermus striped Countryside Inn DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Really – is it any wonder that this is one of my favorite folds? It’s so easy – and it’s so pretty with all that space to decorate with pretty paper like the Countryside Inn DSP! The Around the Bend set brings such cool images and sentiments to the table – I am really glad this little set made its way into the Annual Catalog!
I hope you like!
