Stampin Up! Nature’s Harvest Melody Sympathy Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Friday!  Yeah for a weekend!  We’ve got a brisket on the smoker and friends coming for dinner – life is good!  I hope YOUR day is good – and that the weekend coming up is bringing the promise of something fun!! 🙂

My card today is a pretty one – and one that I’m glad to have in my stash.  I hate when I NEED this kind of card – but, I DO like thinking that it will bring a smile to someone who might need it!  This sympathy card uses the Nature’s Harvest stamp set and bundled Harvest Dies, along with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and some Awash in Beauty DSP.  Take a look see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Sketch Saturday challenge.

I started by embossing a Crumb Cake panel in the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I opened up my Paper Snips and used them to distress the top right and bottom left corners using the edge of the scissor blade.

Using my fingers, I curled and crinkled the same two corners – working them around to make them look “worn” and hold their curled shape.

Using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the distressed panel to the front of a Mossy Meadow card base.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I used Liquid Glue to adhere three pieces of Awash in Beauty DSP.  Then I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Harvest Dies, I cut an Old Olive grass, a Crumb Cake branch, and a So Saffron wildflower.  I cut the Old Olive piece into two “stems” – and then used Liquid Glue to adhere them in a pretty “stack” on the card front. Note: I trimmed the bottoms off the stems to help them fit on the card front!

I tied a Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine bow and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Nature’s Harvest sentiment in Mossy Meadow.  Then I cut it out with the label die in the bundled Harvest Dies.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped the small floral image from Nature’s Harvest in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I colored just the flowers with the So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into the Mossy Meadow card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Nature’s Harvest floral in Mossy Meadow – colored in So Saffron – on the front…

…and more of the Awash in Beauty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It’s so easy to lose sight of all the beautimous things in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog when we have so many NEW goodies to play with.  But…don’t!  The Annual Catalog products – like this Nature’s Harvest stamp set and bundled Harvest Dies – are just gorgeous!  I mean – look at those die cuts!  And I very recently used the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and the Awash in Beauty DSP – but…this is SUCH a different looking card!  You can see for yourself right here!  And this vintage look just makes my heart smile!
