Stampin’ Up! Around the Bend Regency Park Book-Fold Fun Fold Card

Happy Happy Hawmp Day, y’all – and happy first day of February!  Hope you’re ready for a good month!

I like fun folds.  Actually – I LOVE fun folds!  And one of my very favorite folds – which also happens to be one of the EASIEST – is the Book-Fold!  I pulled that one out again today and added some so-pretty paper from the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP.  The focal point is from the slightly overlooked (just my thoughts!) Around the Bend Bundle.  Take a look-see:

And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge this week. I went across the top, down the middle and across a diagonal or two!

I started out by scoring a 4 1/4” x 11” piece of Basic Gray cardstock at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” on the long side.  I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “valley” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction.  Topographically speaking, that would be a “mountain” fold!

Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.

I matted a piece of pretty Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP on an Evening Evergreen mat and then adhered it to the larger side of the card front with Liquid Glue.

I matted a smaller, narrow panel on Evening Evergreen for the side fold panel. I wrapped a length of Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon around the narrow panel – securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I adhered the panel to the side fold with Liquid Glue.

A faux bow tied around the ribbon was all I added from there!  Tip: a “faux bow” is just a length of the same ribbon tied around the first piece, snugged down and then the ends are trimmed to look like bow tails.  Easy peasy!

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the leaf corner image from Around the Bend in Evening Evergreen and then added a sentiment in Sweet Sorbet.  I matted it on Evening Evergreen and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using my fun little Boho Blue Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, I cut out a Basic White flower, a small two-leaf leaf from Evening Evergreen cardstock, two leaves from Evening Evergreen Fine Shimmer Paper and a little flower center from Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Side note:  if you’d like your very OWN Baby Boho (that’s what I call him!) – then the way to get it is to join Stampin’ Up! before the end of February!  Which will ALSO get you hooked up with that 20% discount that all us demonstrators love so much!  Check out all the OTHER great benefits of joining my team – right here! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves and flower (with it’s little yellow flower center) in the corner of the card front.

I added a Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Color Opal Round to the middle of the flower – and a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels – and the card front was done!

The inside got another Around the Bend sentiment in Sweet Sorbet on a square of Basic White – plus the Evening Evergreen leafy corner in the…well…the corner! 😎😎

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and then into the inside of the card – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Around the Bend leafy corner on the front…

…and a little more Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love love love this fun fold – it’s a perfect way to design to a square card – without making an ACTUAL square card!  And it gives you a lot of real estate for showing off pretty paper like our Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP!  I am also a real fan of the Around the Bend bundle – the sentiments are really nice and the die cut flowers and leaves are perfect!
