Stampin’ Up! Brushed Bouquet Peaceful Moments Birthday Card

Good morning, y’all – happy new work week! Didja do anything fun this weekend?  We stuck pretty close to home – but that was a good thing!  I spent some time on Saturday uploading all my Retired goodies from the Jul – Dec 2022 Mini and the Jul – Aug 2022 SAB catalogs (plus a few other things!).  So – be sure you head over there and check it all out!  The info is down below! 🙂

When that was done, I sat down to make a card to share – and I pulled out the new Brushed Bouquet bundle.  It’s a beautiful image-only set, so…I also went to the Peaceful Moments stamp set for a birthday sentiment.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge!

I started by stamping a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set in Polished Pink in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I matted it on Polished Pink for the card front.

I cut out a Very Vanilla rectangle using a Scalloped Contours die and embossed it in the birthday folder from the Let’s Celebrate Embossing Folders.

I used the stems & leaves stamp from the Brushed Bouquet set to stamp the card front with Evening Evergreen ink.  I stamped it upside down – to make it be the top of the stem – instead of the bottom (as it’s meant to be!).

Then I adhered the embossed die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped two flowers from Brushed Bouquet in Polished Pink.  These are two-step images – the first one I stamped in full-strength Polished Pink and the second image in stamped-off-once Polished Pink.  Then I cut them out with the dies from the Brushed Bouquet die set.

I stamped a leaf image in Evening Evergreen and cut it out as well.

The die set also has some cool dies that emboss and cut at the same time – so I used them to cut out a few Evening Evergreen leaves and a couple of Daffodil Delight flowers.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the Daffodil Delight flowers and an Evening Evergreen leaf to the card front. Then I popped the large stamped flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Another leaf and the small flower were next, adhered with Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

Finally, I added the stamped and die cut leaf to the bottom of the stem with Liquid Glue.  I tied a simple bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I finished off with a few Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped the large flower in Polished Pink and added the stem (still upside down!) in Evening Evergreen.  And then I added another Brushed Brass Butterfly – cuz I love them!

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Polished Pink mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the large Brushed Bouquet flower and “leaves” on the front…

…and the small flower and tiny leaf on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love this Brushed Bouquet set – the images truly look like hand-brushed flowers.  And the dies that emboss and cut at the same time (you use the die cutting sandwich in your die cutting machine) are really cool!  You’ll for sure want a sentiment to put along with the pretty flowers – so…take a look for the Peaceful Moments set (it’s in the current 2022-2023 Annual Catalog)!!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!  And – if you’d like to see how I made it, I did a short video for you!  Check it out right here!

You’ll notice that I used an Evening Evergreen card base in the video – when I made the first one, I was really torn about which color was the way to go – so…I did the OTHER one for the video!  Which one is your fave??

Finn Fan Fix

Finn only has two comfy dog beds – I mean…in addition to the sofa and easy chair.

The third one is his toy chest.

But – it’s handy in so many ways!

He lays there a lot!

Guess it’s comfy AND he can keep an eagle eye (sort of – hard to eagle eye something when you’re asleep!) on his toys!! 🙂

  1. Such a pretty card! Love those flowers and the colors are perfect! Yep, seems like the perfect spot for Finn to rest his head for just a second…but he’s ready to spring into action over the pile of toys if needed. 😉

Eyecatching! How did I miss seeing those embossing folders? Great way to use one as a backdrop to those flowers. Finn just wants to be handy in case THE MAN in the chair decides he wants to play catch with those toys.

    • stampsnlingers

And the Man in the chair sometimes DOES want play catch – and Finn is ALWAYS ready for that! Thanks so much, Gail!! 🙂
