Stampin’ Up! Ginkgo Branch Sneak Peek Fun Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop – our LAST one of 2022 (can you believe it?!?)!  We’ve got a great theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

This week’s challenge was close to my heart – you’ll see why in a sec! – and I decided to do it justice with a pretty card using the new Ginkgo Branch Bundle – which you’ll be able to get in just a few more days when the Jan – Apr 2023 Mini Catalog goes live on 5 Jan.  Take a look-see:

Guess our theme!?

Fun folds – whoo-hoo!!  I made a double-easel card – which is a full easel “mechanism” adhered to the front of a “regular” card – in this case a portrait tent fold card made with Sahara Sand cardstock.

I started this double-easel fun fold with a 4″ x 11″ piece of Sahara Sand cardstock that I scored at 5 1/4″ and again at 8 1/8″ on the long side.  Then I folded the 5 1/4″ score as a “valley” and the 8 1/8″ score line as a “mountain”.  This formed the front easel!

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the back panel – it’s the largest part of the easel – to an Evening Evergreen mat.

I embossed two pieces of Sahara Sand cardstock – one for the large back panel and one for the small front panel of the easel – in the new Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder (arriving SOON in the Jan – Apr 2023 Mini Catalog).  I adhered them with Liquid Glue to their respective panels of the easel.

I placed two Stitched Rectangle Dies on a panel of Sahara Sand and ran it all thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to create the frame on the front.

Using Liquid Glue on the lower half of the frame – I adhered it to the front easel panel.

I used the large and small detailed leaves dies in the Ginkgo Branch Die set to cut out a large leaf from Fresh Freesia Fine Glimmer Paper (available on 5 Jan), one large leaf and one small leaf from Soft Succulent cardstock.

I used Liquid Glue on the lower branches to adhere the leaves onto the front easel panel – “sandwiching” the Fresh Freesia leaves between the two Soft Succulent die cuts.

I stamped the Ginkgo Branch sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink on a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and cut it out with the handy label die from the bundled Ginkgo Branch Die set.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment to the front of the small easel panel.

I added some Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds to the card front – and a Soft Succulent Opal Round to the sentiment – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second Ginkgo Branch sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink on a Sahara Sand panel.  In the corner, I stamped the ginkgo leaves in stamped-off-once Fresh Freesia.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my “regular” Sahara Sand card base, adhered the easel to the front with more Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Ginkgo Branch leaves in Fresh Freesia on the front…

…and a little Soft Succulent paper from the 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Y’all know I love a good fun fold and a Double-Easel is a real winner!  It’s easy but impressive as can be, right?!  And I think the Ginkgo Branch bundle is just gorgeous showcased “in” its frame, don’t you?!  I am 100% in love with the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder, too – and know you will be as well when you can get your hands on it all on 5 Jan!
