Stampin’ Up! Gathered Wheat Rustic Harvest Criss-Cross Fun Fold Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all – and happy T-2 days to Florida-bound!!  I am slogging thru my list – and with any luck the list will end before my time to slog thru it runs out!  I probably ought to stop ADDING things to the end of the list. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️I hope you like!

I pulled out a fun fold for today’s card – it’s a cool one and I like it.  I decorated it with images and die cuts from the Gathered Wheat bundle and some pretty paper from the Rustic Harvest DSP.  The Scalloped Contours die set added a fun – and different! – touch to the inside of the card.  Take a look-see:

This is a perfect card for the Creative Creases Anything Goes with a Fun Fold Challenge!

And – it’s also just right for the theme challenge at The Paper Players! 🙂

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″ on the long side.  Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut on the diagonal on one of the panels – and kept the cut off triangle for use on the card.

I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Crushed Curry across the diagonal to make two triangles.  I did the same with 3 3/4″ x 5″ panels of two different designs – the pumpkins and the Cajun Craze design – from the Rustic Harvest DSP.  I ended up with four triangles – two of which I used on this card and the other two I saved for future Criss-Cross cards! 🙂

Using Liquid Glue, I matted the DSP triangles to the Crushed Curry triangles.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted Cajun Craze triangle to the front triangle on the card base.

With more Liquid Glue, I adhered the remaining triangle (with the pumpkins) to the card front – aligning the bottom and right side – to complete the card base.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the large wheat sheaf from Gathered Wheat in Crushed Curry ink and then cut it with the matching die in the bundled Wheat Die set.  I used that same wheat die to cut a piece of the Cajun Craze DSP – which I adhered to the back of the die cut with Liquid Glue.  TIP: to cut this – and have it fit the stamped die cut – you’ll need to turn the DSP upside down on the cutting platform.  So…put the Cajun Craze side DOWN.  Otherwise – your die cut will be “backwards”.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut to the card front.

Using a few Glue Dots, I adhered a loose loop of Old Olive ribbon from the Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack.

Using the dies in the Wheat Die set, I cut three Crushed Curry wheat tops and adhered them with Glue Dots.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Gathered Wheat sentiment in Cajun Craze and cut it out with the smallest rectangle from the Scalloped Contours die set.

I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the ribbon and wheat top die cuts – added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Rustic Harvest DSP to the inside of the card.  Then I cut the largest Scalloped Contours rectangle from Very Vanilla.  I stamped the second Gathered Wheat sentiment in Cajun Craze – added the splatters image in stamped-off-once Crushed Curry.  Then I stamped the wheat top from corner-to-corner in Crushed Curry.  Tip:  you don’t want to be able to see the stamping from the front when the card is closed – so do some dry-fitting to make sure you know where to stamp!! 🙂

I adhered the die cut panel to the inside of the card and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the splatters and wheat tops on the front…

…and more Rustic Harvest DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a great fun fold – and it really gives the pretty Rustic Harvest DSP a HUGE amount of real estate – and the Gathered Wheat bundle is the perfect complement to that gorgeous paper! 🙂  I love how the fun inner liner looks – the Scalloped Contours Die Set is so pretty and versatile – one that you need to have in your tool box!
