Stampin’ Up! Celebrate with Tags & Soft Seedlings Birthday with Video Tutorial

Good morning – it’s T-7 days!  To what??  Well – this time next week I’ll be on the way to FLORIDA!  First to Jacksonville to meet up with a bunch of team mates for the 2022 OnStage Local and THEN – on down to Dinney!!  Hard to say which is more exciting – I’m glad I get to do BOTH and don’t have to pick!

Betwixt now and then, I’ve got some card making and sharing to do with y’all – and today is no exception!  Today’s card was inspired by my friend Darla Shelton who sent me a gorgeous card using my fave set – the Soft Seedlings stamp set!  I used that set – plus the Celebrate with Tags bundle – to make my own version – suitable-for-a-guy!  Take a look-see:

I borrowed this layout from the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.

…and I played along with The Paper Players, too! I think I actually hit every square.  BINGO!!  Or wait… TICTACTOE?!? 🤷‍♀️

I started by embossing a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder to create the card front.

I frayed the ends of a length of Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon and used the little dash image from Celebrate with Tags to stamp in Pumpkin Pie ink all over the ribbon.  Then I adhered it to the card front using a Craft Stapler.  If you don’t have a Craft Stapler (this is a non-Stampin’ Up! item!) – you can adhere it with some Stampin’ Seal! 🙂

Using the circle die from the Celebrations Tag set, I cut a polka dot Pumpkin Pie circle from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I used the scalloped-end tag die from the Celebrations Tag die set to cut out a Very Vanilla and a Cajun Craze tag.  I cut the Cajun Craze tag in half (at the score line that the die embossed as it cut it out) and set the two pieces aside.

Using the Soft Seedlings leaf, I inked it in Crushed Curry and then used a Sponge Dauber to daub some Pumpkin Pie ink near the base of the leaf.  Then I stamped the leaf all over the tag – being sure to clean the stamp each time (otherwise all the ink gets mixed up and muddled.  And – no one wants that!!).

On the inside of the tag I stamped a sentiment from Celebrate with Tags in Cajun Craze.  Then I inked and stamped the Soft Seedlings leaf.

I adhered one of the Cajun Craze half-tags to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I did the same with the Vanilla tag after folding it in half!

On a piece of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Celebrate with Tags sentiment in Cajun Craze and cut it with the rectangle in the Celebrations Tag set.  I added the little dashes image a few times in Crushed Curry ink, then I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front of the Vanilla tag.

I used two lengths of Crumb Cake twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials pack to tie a simple bow, which I adhered with a scrunched up Glue Dot.

I added some Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

For the back, I stamped the Soft Seedlings leaf on a Very Vanilla panel and added the textural dashes image a few times in Pumpkin Pie ink.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and then onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Crumb Cake base – popped the card front onto the other side of the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium envelope got the Soft Seedlings leaf and dashes on the front…

…and more of the Pumpkin Pie Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do SO love the Soft Seedlings stamp set – that leaf image is just one of my favorite things ever!  And the amazing Celebrate with Tags – with its bundled Celebrations Tag Dies – is very cool.  Use it like I’ve done here – or…I dunno…make…TAGS!?!  For…I dunno…Christmas?  Birthday?  Anniversary?  Valentines??  Just a thought!

Finn Fan Fix

I found something that I’d stashed in the refrigerator when Karen and Amy were here a couple weeks ago.

I was SUPPOSED to give it to the Man for Halloween!

I told him I’d forgotten it.

So he gave it the once over…

…checked to be sure the packaging was still intact…safety first….

…and deemed it acceptable!

Only a little bit at a time, big guy!  Gotta keep that waist – see it there!?

Thanks, Aunty Karen – and hope you’re feeling better!!

  1. Such an awesome fall card! Love the colors and the staples are the perfect embellishment. Apparently the Halloween cookie met the sniff test even though it was a few days late. Good thing…hate for a cookie to go to waste! 😉
