Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a fun color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I decided to do…ONE MORE (okay – MAYBE it’ll be the last one for 2022 but…one never really knows) Halloween card when I saw the color challenge. This one uses the Scary Cute bundle and some Celebrate Everything DSP! Take a look-see:
And here’s our color challenge. I used Crushed Curry! 🙂
And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too! I went down the left column (Fall/Halloween – Plaid – Die Cutting) and across the bottom (Die Cutting – Patterned Paper – Ribbon).
I started by adhering a piece of the cool Celebrate Everything DSP (remember – this is a host set which means you can get it for free with a $180 individual order or a workshop!) on a Crushed Curry mat using Liquid Glue.
I used the largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a Crushed Curry and a Basic Black circle.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the little trick-or-treaters from Scary Cute in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the Crushed Curry Circle.
With one of the dies in the Basic Borders die set…
…I cut across the bottom of the circle, just below the trick-or-treaters.
Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the circle to the Basic Black circle – and popped the whole thing onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the Scary Silhouettes dies (bundled with Scary Cute) to cut a veritable CLOUD of bats (did you know that’s what a group of bats in flight is called?) from some black Metallic & Shimmer 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper. I popped the larger bats on with Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the two smaller ones with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Crushed Curry, I stamped the Scary Cute sentiment in Tuxedo Black – then I cut it out with the label die in the Scary Silhouettes Die set.
Below the “moon” – I used some Stampin’ Seal to adhere a loosely looped “Z” of Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon (gingham is like…plaid. Right?!).
Then I popped the sentiment label over the top with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Scary Cute sentiment in Crushed Curry on a Basic White panel. Next to it, in Tuxedo Black – I stamped the three-bat image and the half-moon in Crushed Curry.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the bats and half moon on the front…
…and more of the starry Celebrate Everything DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Are those little Scary Cute trick-of-treaters not WAAAAY more cute than they are scary?!? I think so – and…I do love all the little Scary Silhouettes die cut bats! Celebrate Everything DSP is a perfect – and HUGE!! – set of paper, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that for almost ANY occasion for which you might need a card! Oh – and it’s FREE?? Yes, please!
I hope you like!

Really liked the use of the basic border dies there. It’s always fun to see another way to use them for different effects–I can see using them for several of the sports/driving sets this way.
Oh yes – they WOULD make a fun “road” for sure! Thanks, Gail! 🙂
