Stampin’ Up! Trimming the Tree Peace & Joy Christmas Card

Good morning and happy Labor Day!  I hope you are NOT laboring today and instead are getting ready for a backyard BBQ or some such to celebrate the last holiday of the summer!

My card today celebrates Christmas.  Cuz…it’s September.  So…why not?!  Never too early is my motto.  And Walmart’s.  And Costco’s…. LOL!

I used the Trimming the Tree stamp set – from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog – with the new (and limited availability!) Tree Trimmings dies – which are part of the Perfect Partners promotion taking place all month!  I used a little Lights Aglow DSP, too!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with four 1/2″ wide strips of Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ DSP – they’re the front-and-back of the same piece of paper – that I adhered to a Cherry Cobbler mat using Liquid Glue.  This panel is adhered to a Basic White panel that was matted on Cherry Cobbler to make the card front.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the large tree from Trimming the Tree in Evening Evergreen ink.  Then I cut it out with the matching die (#1 in the picture below) in the new Tree Trimmings Dies – with the coordinating die (#2 below) set in place, too.  That second die cuts texture into the image – you can turn those little pieces up to add some “brushiness” to the tree! 🙂

I popped the tree onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I decorated the tree with stars and ornaments cut using dies in the Tree Trimmings set – from gold Glimmer 12″ x 12″ paper – and bows cut from more Lights Aglow DSP – it’s all adhered with Liquid Glue!  Tip – adhere the bows to the ornaments with Liquid Glue first – THEN adhere them to the tree with another dab of the Liquid Glue.

I cut out a tree base from Soft Suede and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a Trimming the Tree sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and cut it with the label die in Tree Trimmings.  I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhered a die cut Glimmer star with Liquid Glue and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Trimming the Tree sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Basic White panel.  Across the bottom, I stamped the smaller tree image a few times in Evening Evergreen and added the little star in Daffodil Delight.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Trimming the Tree small trees and stars on the front…

…and more of the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am loving all these new die sets, aren’t you?!  Being able to quick-as-a-bunny cut out the images from our fave stamp sets – like this Trimming the Tree set from the Annual Catalog – makes the set even more wonderful!  I love that the Tree Trimmings Dies let you cut out so many ornaments and stars and bows and other fun tree decorating shapes!!
