Stampin’ Up! Leaves & Boughs of Holly Sneak Peek Christmas Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp DAY!!  We’ve got a busy day – I have my physical this morning so…black coffee only (bleh) until I can get home.  So…I’m gonna be a bit on the hangry side!!  Have to remember to stick a granola bar in so I don’t try to eat the steering wheel on the way home!  And then Finn has HIS physical this afternoon.  So…it’s a busy day for sure.  And I suspect at least part of it will be in the rain so that’ll be fun!

Just a note:  Today is the LAST day to get signed up for a Paper Share – be sure to get in on that, okay?

As part of your share, you’ll get some of the paper that plays a big role in today’s card – the Boughs of Holly DSP!  It’s gorgeous – and you’re going to love it!  I paired it with the coordinating Leaves of Holly stamp set and bundled Holly Berry Die set.  Plus…some other pieces and parts of the Suite – all of which you’ll be able to get the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from The Paper Players sketch challenge this week.

And I took some inspiration from the samples in the new catalog, too! 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of the Boughs of Holly DSP to the front of a Cherry Cobbler card base using Liquid Glue.

I matted two more pieces of the DSP on Mossy Meadow and adhered them to the card front, too.

From a piece of Distressed Gold Paper, I cut the label die, a detailed holly leaf, a detailed berry, and two pine boughs using the Holly Berry Die set.

I cut some solid leaves and pine boughs from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock.  And a berry die cut from Cherry Cobbler.  The die cuts go together perfectly – I just adhered them together with their Distressed Gold counterparts using Liquid Glue.

Then I adhered the gold label to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I used a little Stampin’ Seal + to adhere a length of 1/2″ Natural Woven Ribbon (part of the Suite and coming on 1 Jul!).

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Leaves of Holly sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and cut it with the label die in the Holly Berry Die set.

Then it was a matter of using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the die cut leaves and boughs – plus a couple of Textural Elements (in the Suite, too!) to the card front.

Before I added the large holly leaf, I tied a gold twine bow, from the Simply Elegant Trim pack, and added it with Liquid Glue.

Then I used Dimensionals to add the sentiment and the berries.

Some Cherry Cobbler Festive Pearls finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Leaves of Holly in Cherry Cobbler on a Basic White panel.  In the corner I stamped a holly leaf twice in Mossy Meadow ink.  The solid image is in stamped-off-once ink and the detailed leaf in full-strength ink.  I added some Cherry Cobbler berries – that’s a two-step stamp, too – I used full strength ink for both images.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and then into the Cherry Cobbler card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the leaves and berries from Leaves of Holly on the front…

…and more of the stunning poinsettia-strewn Boughs of Holly DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How lovely is this Boughs of Holly Suite?!?  Anchored by the Leaves of Holly stamp set and bundled Holly Berry Dies, and complemented by the Boughs of Holly DSP…

…it’s a stunning suite – perfect for all your Christmas and holiday projects!

I hope you like!

Go ahead – I’ll wait while you add it to your list for Friday!  Or…you could take a gander at my Special Bundle #3 – Christmas Magic!  You’ll get all the elements of the Suite and much more!! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Finny has been limping for a few days.

We’ve probed his paws and pads and Wayne is convinced that he’s got a crack in his pad.

Could be – I sure couldn’t find anything.

I’ve managed to keep him from Super Glueing what he believes is the crack – Super Glue is his go-to fix-all – so…he’s applying Corona ointment to it a couple of times a day.

It’s kind of a process…

You can tell Finn is loving it, right?!?

Daaaaad!

I just had to laugh.
