Stampin’ Up! Go To Greetings Under a Willow Tree

Good Monday morning!  I hope your weekend was great and that you got a lot of your “to-do” lists done.  Or..NOT – if that was your plan to start with!

We crashed HARD – again! – last night – Saturday was a long day and Sunday, too, for that matter!  And that included the Man!  He finally found his lick and decided he doesn’t mind traveling and hotels.  Especially ones with cool tile floors and a blower thing that he can stand right in front of and have cold air blast his face!  He even decided he was okay with the elevator!  He IS tired – finally!  On Saturday, he was up and down every time we slowed down – for much of the ride to Huntsville.  On Sunday, he was sacked out and sound asleep in the car within 10 minutes of hitting the road! LOL

My card today features a bunny.  Under a Willow Tree.  This little bunya is saying howdy with one of the cool Go To Greetings sentiments!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch at the Just Add Ink challenge!

I started by stacking up two coordinating pieces of Pretty Prints DSP and cutting them at the same time in my Paper Trimmer  I cut them at 2 1/8″ along the short side and then at 4″ along the long side.  That left me with eight pieces – the happy benefit of this is that you’re making TWO card fronts at once!!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere four of the pieces of DSP to a Calypso Coral mat to make the card front.

I cut the largest circle Stylish Shapes die cut from a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I stamped the “ground” image from the Willow Tree set in Soft Succulent near the bottom.  I added the right-facing bunya (there’s a left-facing little dude, too – he gets his turn on the inside) in Gray Granite.

Then I adhered the circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the largest bough image from Willow Tree on a piece of Basic White.  I colored the image with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks using Sponge Daubers and stamping multiple times.  To finish it, I lightly sponged some Soft Sea Foam onto the image.  Then I cut it out with the matching Willow die.

I stamped the tree trunk image in Soft Suede on Basic White and cut it with its die.

Then I set the die cut tree and the die cut bough onto the card front to figure my placement.  With that figured out, I adhered the boughs to the card front with Liquid Glue then adhered the trunk over top with more Liquid Glue.

I stamped three of the smaller bough images using the same sponging process and the Stamparatus and then cut them with their coordinating die.

All the small bough images are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral and cut it with a Stylish Shapes banner.  My goodness – how MUCH do you love the Stylish Shapes set?!?  WOW!

I tucked the sentiment into the boughs of the Willow, adhering it with Liquid Glue.

Some sweet little Brushed Brass Butterflies finished off the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the trunk in Soft Suede and then added the small bough image a couple times in Soft Succulent and once in Evening Evergreen.  Then some Soft Succulent “ground” and the left-facing bunya in Gray Granite! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Willow Tree on the front…

…and more Pretty Prints DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a pretty set – I love the Willow Tree – and the gorgeous – perfectly weeping! – boughs.  And that you can cut it all out with the bundled Willow Dies is a most wonderful bonus!  Go To Greetings is…perfect.  It has your most-needed sentiments – in different sizes and fonts.

Like Stylish Shapes – it’s a serious workhorse for your greeting card projects!  And if you don’t already have them – I highly recommend that you remedy that post haste! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

First night in a hotel.

Ever!

And – he’s like…a PRO!

Huh.  They have my food – pumpkin and EVERYTHING! – even here!

I have to say – it’s a treat to travel with a dog who will actually EAT and DRINK on the road.  Buck – his sweet predecessor – was a great traveler, too…

…but he wouldn’t eat a cookie or get a drink for as long as we were in the truck – not at a rest stop, not at a park, not in the day, and not in the dark….

That caused US much angst.  Which I’m sure brought HIM much amusement.  😂

Okay – sorry.  Back to Finn!

He heard some noise out in the hall and….I was waiting for him to send a sternly worded warning.

But he didn’t.

He’s smart that way!

Someone DID tell me how handsome my dog was as we were walking into the hotel.

Highly observant AND accurate! 😉
