Stampin’ Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit Alternative Card Project and…Blog Candy!!

Well – Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day!!  What do you call a camel with no humps?

Humphree, of course! 😉

That joke has absolutely positively NOTHING to do with the project I’m sharing with you today!

Stampin’ Up! has some amazing kits and they recently released a brand new All-Inclusive Kit called the Love, Santa Tag Kit!  And – it has matching treat bags, too.  Cuz…tags and treat bags just go together like peanut butter and jelly!

I picked up a couple right away and they arrived over the weekend.  So I pulled one of the kits out and put it together quick as a bunny.

No.  Really – it went together really quickly and it is UBER cute!

The kit comes with EVERYthing you need to make twelve fun tags – and they are BIG!!  Like…card-front-sized big!  Which means they’re perfect for attaching to a filled Love, Santa Treat Bag!

I bought an extra kit  (or two!) – so I decided to make THIS one into some quick and easy Christmas cards! I saw that my friend and awesome upline, Amy Koenders, had done that, so…it seemed like a good plan.  She used a Basic Patterns Mask and Blending Brushes to stencil snowflakes all over her card bases.  I wanted to show you a different way to achieve that look!

I picked two coordinating colors – Poppy Parade and Night of Navy – and pulled out the Merry Snowflakes stamp set.

I stuck the three snowflake stamps from the set onto a single acrylic block…

…and then stamped the snowflakes all over a piece of cardstock.  Poppy Parade ink on Poppy Parade cardstock and Night of Navy ink on Night of Navy cardstock! I adhered each stamped card front to a same-color card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals

I popped each stamped card front onto a same-color card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I popped each tag onto the card fronts with more Dimensionals.  I put some on straight – and some at a jaunty angle.  I couldn’t decide which one I liked better so….what do you think?  Straight or angled? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I left the tag hangers in place and just tied them into a simple bow!

For the inner liners, I used the sentiment from Merry Snowflakes and stamped it in the coordinating color on a Basic White panel.

Then I added one of the leftover jewels from the Love, Santa Tag Kit and adhered the panels into the cards with Stampin’ Seal. Tip: the Tag Kit instruction sheet shows you how many jewels to use on each tag.  I initially used that as a guide.  Then…since I had leftovers, I added more of the jewels to the Christmas tree tag.  If you do that – just be sure you leave 12 little ones to add to the inside of the cards! 😉

I stamped Basic White Medium Envelopes – you didn’t think I would NOT do envelopes did you?? – with the same Merry Snowflakes that I’d used on the card front.  I did them in the coordinating color on the front…

…and on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Tags or cards?  Heck – get TWO Love, Santa Tag Kits and do BOTH!  They’re so easy and fun.  AND – if you’re doing tags – you don’t need ANY other products – you’ll get a Night of Navy Ink Spot AND an acrylic block!! But don’t forget to pick up a pack of the coordinating Love, Santa Treat Bags!

The kit ALSO coordinates with Bumblebee, Just Jade, and Polished Pink in addition to the Night of Navy and Poppy Parade.  So… you could do any color combo that strikes you!! 🙂

I hope you like!
