Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Giving Thanks! We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
I used two really cool products – well, three if you add in the Beauty of the Earth DSP! The Festive & Bright Bundle – with it’s pretty apple-garland border – and the Thinking Thanks & Peace stamp set. Take a look-see:
I used the FUSION sketch (turned on its side!) for the layout!
And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too! I went across the center!
I started out by matting some wood-grain paper from the Beauty of the Earth DSP on Cherry Cobbler to make the card front.
Next, I stamped the Festive & Bright apple-border image twice in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. Then I used the matching edge dies from the bundled Festive Finishes die set to cut the edges. Too cute!
Using my Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combos, I colored both strips.
I stamped the bold sentiment from the Thinking Thanks & Peace stamp set in Early Espresso on a strip of Very Vanilla. Using my Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker, I colored the wheat sheaf.
I matted the strip on Cherry Cobbler.
I adhered the two apple borders to the card front with Liquid Glue with enough space between them to accommodate the matted sentiment. Then I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the little apple die in the Festive Finishes die set to cut a Cherry Cobbler apple. And the leaf die to cut a Mossy Meadow leaf.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the leaf behind the apple and then used a Stampin’ Dimensional and a little more Liquid Glue to adhere the apple to the sentiment.
I tied a little bow from some Very Vanilla twine in the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and adhered it with a squished up Glue Dot and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped the wheat sheaf from the Thinking Thanks & Peace set in Early Espresso in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel. I colored the wheat with my Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker.
TIP: You might remember this stamp – I actually CUT the sentiment from the wheat. I left the rubber so that I could put the two pieces together on a block – as I did for the front…
…but I can ALSO use either piece on its own.
Like I did on the inside of the card.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Thinking Thanks & Peace wheat on the front…
..and more Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I really like the Festive & Bright Bundle – it’s kind of easy to overlook, but..it covers Fall/Thanksgiving, Halloween AND Christmas! With totally adorable images and die cuts from the Festive Finishes Die set! And the Thinking Thanks & Peace set is equally occasion-fluid, covering Thanksgiving, Thinking of You, Halloween AND Christmas!
