Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Sparkle of the Season Christmas Card

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  I always think of Tuesday as sort of an “orphan day”.  Not so bleh as Monday.  Not so awesome as Friday.  Wednesday has its HAWWWMP.   Thursday is Friday-eve.  Poor Tuesday.  Just sorta…meh! 😉

So – to cheer up Tuesday – and you! – I’ve got a pretty Christmas card to share with you today and…a little sneaky peek.  Can you find it?  I used Peaceful Place Specialty DSP as a monochromatic backdrop to a Seasonal Swirls Die cut wreath and a simple Sparkle of the Season sentiment.  Take a look-see:

Most of the elements on this card – and the layout! – were inspired by the Inspired By challenge this week (I used the photo AND the sketch!)

I started with a piece of Buffalo plaid paper from the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP that I matted on Evening Evergreen CS for the card front.

Then I pulled out the Seasonal Swirls die set and cut a Pear Pizzazz, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent Eden’s Garden Cotton Paper pine bough wreath.

Wait.  A…what now??  You read it right.  Eden’s Garden Cotton Paper!  🙂  Eden’s Garden is a brand new – coming to customers on 2 November – suite.  It’s an “early release” from the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.  I’ve gotten mine in (yes, Demonstrators are already able to order it – whoohoo!!) and will be sharing a sneaky peek at it this week!  Maybe…on Thursday for my YouTube live?! 😉

Eden’s Garden

I adhered all the die cut wreaths to the card front using Liquid Glue.  I layered them with the Pear Pizzazz first, then the Evening Evergreen and finally the Soft Succulent Eden’s Garden Cotton Paper.  Note:  if you want to make this right now – you can for sure use Soft Succulent cardstock! 🙂

I cut a fourth Seasonal Swirls wreath – this one the one with the stars – from a piece of Silver Foil Specialty Paper – and adhered it on the top.

I tied a little bow from Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I cut a strip of Peaceful Place Specialty DSP and stamped a Sparkle of the Season sentiment in Evening Evergreen, then I snipped a banner into the right end.

I cut a mat from the Soft Succulent Eden’s Garden Cotton Paper (the pack will have both Soft Succulent AND Evening Evergreen paper and…it’s real pretty!).  I adhered the sentiment to the strip with Liquid Glue and popped it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a bunch of Pearl Basic Jewels around the wreath – to look like berries? – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second Sparkle of the Season sentiment in Evening Evergreen.  Over the top, I stamped the wreath in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent.  Then I added the stars in Versamark, sprinkled them with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set them.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the stamped-off-once Soft Succulent wreath and silver-embossed stars on the front…

…and more of the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really really love the Sparkle of the Season Bundle – love the images and sentiments, love the die cuts, love the multi-seasonal versatility!  Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween – it’s got it all!

Stamps-N-Lingers Fundraiser for a GREAT Cause and a DOUBLE Peppermints Ordering Special!

Through 9 October 2021!

I recently came across an organization that does good for two populations that I care about very much – and I know you do, too.  K9’s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma.  Which is awesome.  But – here’s the kicker and the piece that made me sit up and take notice!!

K9s For Warriors Logo

The majority of their K9s are rescued from shelters or surrendered by their owners. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, this great organization gives them purpose. Each pair who graduates from the program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.

But wait – there’s more.  Dogs who do not graduate from their program qualify for a “career change” and are adopted out to loving homes or they enter the K9FW Station Dog Program – which lets them help to address and mitigate the stress factors common to the work and environment of dispatch operators, first responders, and police officers

Okay – so…HOW COOL IS THAT?!?  Veteran – WIN.  A Dog’s Life Saved?!? WIN WIN!

So.

How can YOU help ME help THEM??

Finn Fan Fix

On World Card Making Day last Saturday, while we were all having fun being creative (and winning prizes!) – Wayne and Finn were making my ponies’ dreams come true!

Finn rode to get the hay and then Wayne called me to come get him from the top pasture (it was TOO hot for the fur-ball to trot back to the house!).

He insisted on supervising some of the unloading.

Dad was doing fine, so…Finn cleared me to take him back to the house and some A/C!
