Well good morning, y’all! Did everyone have a good World Card Making Day? I know a bunch of you joined us for our Inkin’ Krew WCMD 20201 FB Event – and I hope you had a great time. I know WE did! I used the beautimous Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season bundles, plus the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Take a look-see:
The abundance of Leaves is perfect with this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge!
I started by embossing a Basic White panel in the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and matting it on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.
Next up, on Basic White, I stamped a bunch of the foliage images from the Christmas Season stamp set. I used Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Garden Green. This image will make it easier for you to see what I stamped and in what color! 🙂
I cut each of the images out using the dies in the bundled Seasonal Labels die set. Note: you want two Holly Leaves – the stamp and die actually stamp and cut TWO at the same time – making it quick!
I also stamped a sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Cherry Cobbler on Basic White – then cut it with one of the labels dies in the Seasonal Labels die set.
I did some dry-fitting – including some Gold Holly Leaves! – and when I was happy with my design – I took a picture (this is a GREAT way to be able re-create your masterpiece!).
I adhered all the stamped/die cut leaves onto the card front with Liquid Glue. Tip: only use the Glue on the “bottom” ends of the leaves – that leaves you room to nestle your Gold Holly Leaves in and amongst them!
When all the leaves were adhered – I added the sentiment label – with Stampin’ Dimensionals (placed near the center of the die cut).
Then I used Liquid Glue to “nestle” my Gold Holly Leaves in place.
I tied a single-loop bow from gold Simply Elegant Trim – it’s like a Double-Loop bow – but…half the loops….(this picture shows how to do it – it shows Linen Thread – but it’s the same concept with the Gold trim)
…and adhered it by the label with a Glue Dot.
I used a Glue Dot to adhere two large Gold Holly Leaves together – then added three large Cherry Cobbler gems from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I stuck a Glue Dot on top of the middle of the bow and added a Stampin’ Dimensional right next to it – then used those to adhere the assembled Holly Leaves.
I added a Shaded Spruce Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the sentiment label – and some small Cherry Cobbler jewels here and there and the card front was done.
For the inside, I added a second Christmas to Remember sentiment in Cherry Cobbler to a Basic White panel. Then I stamped more foliage in the corner, using the same colors as I’d done on the front, and added a Shaded Spruce and a few Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Christmas Season foliage on the front…
.and then I added a piece of Painted Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! These two bundles – Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season – were absolutely designed to work together. Like…peanut butter and jelly. Or…Liver and Onions. 🤢🤢🤢 Okay – THAT was a bad example (sorry, L&O lovers!) – but…you know what I mean! And the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder (which I learned during my video yesterday would play Joy To The World if you played it) is just so elegantly gorgeous!

I recently came across an organization that does good for two populations that I care about very much – and I know you do, too. K9’s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. Which is awesome. But – here’s the kicker and the piece that made me sit up and take notice!!
The majority of their K9s are rescued from shelters or surrendered by their owners. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, this great organization gives them purpose. Each pair who graduates from the program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.
But wait – there’s more. Dogs who do not graduate from their program qualify for a “career change” and are adopted out to loving homes or they enter the K9FW Station Dog Program – which lets them help to address and mitigate the stress factors common to the work and environment of dispatch operators, first responders, and police officers
