Stampin’ Up! Knit Pretty Pumpkins & Gorgeous Leaves with Video Tutorial

Good morning, my peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well!  Finny and I had a really nice time at the carriage driving fun day yesterday!  The weather was gorgeous – Finn got lots of pet’s and “he’s so beautiful”‘s and I got to see some friends that I hadn’t seen in a very long time!  And to ride on her carriage – and even drive her sweet Haflinger.  All in a very good day!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not but you’d like to watch the replay here ’tis!  AND – thanks to the vagaries of internet – I had to do this one in TWO goes – so…to see the entire project – click the picture below…

…and then click this link to see the conclusion!  Sorry about that! 🙁

The weather has been so Fall-like here in GA that I was hankering to pay a bit of homage to that.  So I pulled out the Gorgeous Leaves and Pretty Pumpkins Bundles.  And…the Knit Together background stamp.  I saw a cool sample when we were in Maui and sort of borrowed some ideas from it.  Take a look-see:

The theme also worked well with the TGIF Challenge this week.

I started by embossing a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder and then adhering it to the front of my Thick Very Vanilla card base with Stampin’ Seal.

I placed a smaller panel of Very Vanilla into my Stamparatus, then stamped the Knit Together image in Sahara Sand ink.  I flipped the panel over and stamped the image again without re-inking.

I tore the panel down a little and then made a few larger tears to create a vintage look.  I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Using the leaf stamps in the Gorgeous Leaves set, I stamped two larger leaves in Bumble Bee and a smaller leaf in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla cardstock  Then I cut them with their dies in the bundled Intricate Leaves die set.

Then it was time to do some detailed die cutting.

From Blackberry Bliss – I cut the large detailed pumpkin from Detailed Pumpkins.  I cut the smaller pumpkin from Cajun Craze.  I also cut an Early Espresso leaf from the Detailed Pumpkins dies.  Using a Glue Dot – I added a really short little piece of Linen Thread to the top of the pumpkin – then adhered the leaf in place with another Glue Dot.  Using a little dab of Liquid Glue – I “twirled” the Linen Thread to create a little punkin’ tendril.

Using the dies in the Intricate Leaves die set, I  cut two Crumb Cake branches, two larger Bumble Bee detailed leaves, a detailed leaf in Early Espresso.

I cut three lengths of Linen Thread and used them to braid a “rope”.

I used my Stamparatus again to stamp the Pretty Pumpkins sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on Very Vanilla.  I fussy cut the two parts of the phrase.

Using some gold leaves from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack, and all my die cuts – I arranged all the pieces & parts.  I liked it – and took a picture…

…then I picked up the top pieces and took another pic.

This is a GREAT way to be able to reproduce your wunnermus collage when you get it juuuusssst right!

I started adhering all the elements with Liquid Glue.

After I got the large Blackberry Bliss pumpkin adhered – I used a few dabs of Liquid Glue to adhere my braided Linen Thread “rope”.  Then I popped the Cajun Craze pumpkin over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the fussy cut sentiment pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.  And the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second Pretty Pumpkins sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top I added a Gorgeous Leaves image in stamped-off-once Bumble Bee.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Very Vanilla mat and into the card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Bumble Bee Gorgeous Leaves image on the front…

…and I added it again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – I stepped right into the wheelhouse with this one, letting my collage-freak-flag-FLY!!  I love these two bundles – Gorgeous Leaves and Pretty Pumpkins – and they’re perfect together, don’t you think?  And the texture from the Knit Together stamp and the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder help create a wonderful, cozy Fall feeling!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We had to leave pretty early yesterday morning so I was up and at ’em and raring to go first thing.

Okay – I totally overslept and didn’t wake up until the alarm went off at 6.  This is my story so I’ll tell it like I want.

I treadmilled, ate, fed the horses, cleanes the barn, showered I got dressed. Then I headed to the kitchen to finish gathering up some things and saw….

He’d deciphered the “going somewhere” clues (me showering and drying my hair in the morning!) and…apparently wasn’t taking ANY chances that I might leave without him! 🙂

We arrived and found our way to the barn area where my friends Joy and Rhon Redwine had their Nordique and all the things that go along with carriage driving and Finn copped a squat in the shade.

Joy VERY graciously offered me the back step for a ride and I accepted FAST!  I am not a dumb girl! 😉

Rhon took on puppy-sitter duty….

This was Finn’s first time seeing horses hitched to carriages.  Or…you know…really doing much of anything other than eating and rubbing their faces on their hay net (which drives him CRAZY!!).  And eating HIS peppermints!  😉

I saw him a few times sitting with Rhon in the shade – so I hope they had a good time chilling together!

Meanwhile….I was going for a lovely drive with Joy and Nordique!  Nordique is a Haflinger like my girls are – and a very good sort, indeed!

This is the view from the back step!

Joy even let me drive for a while – which was wunnermus.  I’ve missed that more that I even realized!

After our drive we all gathered up and had lunch and some talk about where we wanted to take this re-boot of the driving club.  Finn slept next to my chair in the little bit of shade there was.

We headed home soon after – and he…crashed in the back seat.

And the crash continued when we got home!

Horse driving and people-pleasing is hard work!
