Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Trees & Wonder Top-Fold Easel Card

Good Sunday morning, y’all – from the North GA mountain!  It’s the last day of our retreat – hard to believe.  It takes SO long to get here and then –BLINK– it’s over!  We’ve had such a good time I’m already looking ahead to a team retreat NEXT year here, too!  Maybe one of you reading this will join us! 🙂

We’ve done a bunch of great shoebox projects – and they’re all wunnermus!  I’ll most likely be sharing them over the next few days.  But today, I want to show you the project that I brought for everyone!  It uses one of my fave sets/suites in the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog – the Whimsical Christmas stamp set with it bundled Christmas Trees dies.  And the gorgeous – totally non-traditional-Christmas colored! – Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP.  AND – it’s one of my favorite fun folds, too!  Take a look-see:

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock scored at 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″ and 8 7/8″ along the long-side.  I folded the 5 1/2” score as a valley (like a regular card). Then folded the 6 3/4” score the opposite direction. Finally – I folded the 8 7/8″ score opposite that (so…another valley).

I used Liquid Glue between the two closest score lines – then pressed the card front to the back – this adhered them together and created the top-fold.

I matted some Misty Moonlight paper from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on Mint Macaron cardstock using Stampin’ Seal – then adhered the panels to the small top-fold panel – and the middle panel of the easel.  Tip: if you’re using a paper with an obvious “up” and “down” – pay attention to how it will look when it’s set up, okay? 🙂

I adhered a piece of Mint Macaron Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP to a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.

For the next panel, I swiped the “emboss” side the pine bough folder in the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders set with my Whisper White Ink Pad, and then carefully placed a Soft Succulent panel inside, closed the folder and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  That adds a subtle “bump” to the embossing!

I rounded the bottom ends of the panel with the Detailed Trio Punch and then adhered the panel to the matted square with Liquid Glue.

I used the Encircled in Beauty die set to cut out a pretty medallion from the Misty Moonlight paper in Whimsy & Wonder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a Wonderful Snowflake embellishment with Liquid Glue.

Using the small tree die in the Christmas Trees set, I cut a Mint Macaron cardstock tree and a Polished Pink tree from the Whimsy & Wonder DSP.  I used the larger tree to cut a Mossy Meadow tree.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a couple of Gold Holly Leaves to the card front – then added the three die cut trees.

I stamped the Whimsy & Wonder sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a strip of Basic White – angled the end with my Paper Snips – and popped it onto the panel with Stampin’ Dimensioanls.

I tucked a few more Gold Holly Leaves under the sentiment with Liquid Glue – added a few Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Jewels – and the front panel was done.  Using Liquid Glue only on the front part of the easel, I adhered the BOTTOM HALF ONLY of the panel to the easel. hope you like!

For the inside, I matted the Misty Moonlight DSP to a Mint Macaron mat and adhered it inside the card with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the second Whimsical Christmas sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White Scalloped Contours die cut.  In the corners I added the holly image in Mossy Meadow and colored them with my Polished Pink and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends.  I added a Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Jewel and adhered the sentiment inside the card with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the little Christmas tree from Whimsical Christmas in Mint Macaron on Basic White and cut it with its matching die.  I cut a garland from Gold Metallic Specialty Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the tree onto the back of the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional to create the easel stop.

I used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere a piece of White 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the top of the card – securing it in the front.  Then I tied a little bow and adhered it with another Glue Dot and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Whimsical Christmas tree on the front in Mint Macaron…

…and more of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really REALLY love this fun-fold, don’t you??!  So much coolness – and so much….real estate?…to decorate!  And the Whimsical Christmas stamp set and Christmas Trees dies are so fun.  With the addition of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP in pretty pinks and greens and blues…..Yep.  It’s a winner!
