Stampin’ Up! Thinking Thanks & Peace for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled out a new stamp set called Thinking Thanks & Peace (it’s a bit of a flyover, so you may have missed it on Page 62 of the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini) and added one of the big bold sentiments to some Cork Specialty Paper.  Then I cut a whole YARD’S worth of Beautiful Leaves die cut leaves in various Fall tones.  Take a look-see:

Can you guess our theme? 😉

I used the CASE the Designer challenge at the Global Design Project for the layout inspiration.

The color palette is from the TGIF Challenge.

Finally – I thought the Just Us Girls challenge – which is a tribute to their 600th Challenge (congrats, y’all!) was fun so…I cut exactly SIX Mossy Meadow leaves!

I started by matting a piece of Cork Specialty Paper on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.

I placed a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock into my Stamparatus and used it to stamp the sentiment from Thinking Thanks & Peace in Mossy Meadow.  I stuck a sticky note over the wheat stalk as I inked the sentiment.  Then I did the opposite – covering the sentiment – inking the wheat in Cinnamon Cider.

I matted the strip on Cherry Cobbler and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tip:  keep the dimensionals near the center of the strip – that way you can tuck your leaves wherever you like without hitting them!

Speaking of leaves…at this point I got busy with my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and the leaves dies in the Beautiful Leaves die set.  I cut them from Cinnamon Cider, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow (exactly SIX!) and Rose Gold & Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

It takes a lot of leaves, y’all (so be sure to stay hydrated!) but…it’s worth it! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to tuck my leaves under the sentiment – trying to make them look as UNstaged as possible!

I added a copper Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot to the sentiment strip and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped just the Thinking Thanks & Peace wheat stalk in Cinnamon Cider onto a Very Vanilla panel.  At this point, I made a radical decision. 🙂  I cut the wheat stalk OFF of the sentiment stamp (they’re on a single stamp when it arrives).  I did it after I’d put the sticker on and I made a single cut and left all the rubber.  Which means the two pieces will fit back together perfectly on an Acrylic Block so that I can ink and stamp them together if I want!

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Cinnamon Cider wheat stalk on the front…

…and more of the Cork Specialty Paper on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Thinking Thanks & Peace set is easy to miss – but…take another look!  It covers Fall/Thanksgiving, Halloween (with an adorable little “boo”!), Thinking of You and Christmas!  Handy dandy!  And the Beautiful Leaves die set is….uhm…ready?…BEAUTIFUL! 😉

I hope you like!
