Stampin’ Up! Beauty of Tomorrow Pop Up Sentiment Fun Fold With Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  We did our errands yesterday – so all I have left is the grocery store for today! 🙂

So – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook live, I sure appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay to see how to make this super cool pop up sentiment fun fold card, here ’tis!

The basis of this card starts in the amazing Blackberry Beauty Suite – with the Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set and bundled Beautiful Leaves die set.  Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP and the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack bring beautiful foil accents to the party.  And the Sparkle of the Season and Festive & Bright sets added a couple more pop-up sentiments on the inside.  Take a look-see:

This one was perfect for this week’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!

This fun fold – called a Pop Up Sentiment card – is one I saw on the Splitcoast Stampers site – the talented Dina Kowal showed me how to do it!  I did a little engineering to figure out how to mat the inside and…this card reflects that! 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP to a Blackberry Bliss mat for the card front.  Using the large die in the Beautiful Leaves die set, I cut the large detailed leaves from a piece of gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock.

I adhered the die cut to the card front with Liquid Glue – making sure that it would not extend past the card base when it was put on.  It’s BIG – so…be sure you’re double checking that, too, okay? 😉

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the pretty, large sentiment from Beauty of Tomorrow in Blackberry Bliss.  Then I adhered a foil-embossed frame from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack with Liquid Glue.

I popped the framed sentiment over the die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a few Brushed Adhesive-Backed Metallic Dots and the card front was done.

I made a Cinnamon Cider card base – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

I adhered two Blackberry Bliss mats to both inside panels of the card base using Liquid Glue.

The fun-fold mechanism is a 5 1/8″ x 8 1/8″ piece of Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP.  I used my Paper Trimmer to score at 4 1/16″ on the long side.  Then I scored at 3/4″ on both sides of the center score.  I folded the center line as a “mountain” and the two other score lines as “valleys”.

I used Liquid Glue on the larger portions of the DSP to adhere the folded paper into the card.  Hint:  be sure to NOT get adhesive on the center folded section!  I started on the left side – then opened the card and adhered the right side.

I created the inside sentiments by stamping two sentiments from the Sparkle of the Season and one from the Festive & Bright set in Blackberry Bliss on Basic White and cutting them with Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I cut two leaves from Metallic Cardstock using dies in the Beautiful Leaves set and adhered them to the right end of the “Grateful” sentiment.  I stamped the small bird from Beauty of Tomorrow in Cinnamon Cider, cut it with its die in Beautiful Leaves and adhered it to the right side of “Blessed”.

PLEASE NOTE:  one of the most important details is to ensure that the length of your sentiments is LESS THAN 3 1/2″ – and that includes any decoration!!  Otherwise – they’ll stick out past the edge of the card when it’s closed! 🙂

The middle decoration is the small floral from Beauty of Tomorrow, stamped in Early Espresso, colored with my Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend and Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write marker and cut with the die from Beautiful Leaves.

I used Liquid Glue on just the ends of each sentiment to adhere them to the folded section of the inner liner.  The top and bottom are adhered to the LEFT section and the middle sentiment to the RIGHT side.  Push them right into the fold – and double check that they’re still only 3 1/2″ from the fold to the very end of the decorations! 🙂

I tied a tiny Linen Thread bow and adhered it over the metallic leaves, adhered the card front on with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Beauty of Tomorrow bird on the front…

…and more of the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…this took a LOT of words to ‘splain!  Making you – no doubt! – think this is a hard fold to do.  But..it so is not.  Watch the video (a video is worth a thousand words!).  Then give it a go!  Once you’ve got this fold in your kit-bag, you can make it your own!  Christmas!  Birthdays! New Babies!  Whatever the occasion – the Pop Up Sentiments fun fold is a stunner.  I LOVE it all dressed up in Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP with the Beauty of Tomorrow Bundle sentiment, images and die cuts.   Also – don’t be afraid to find the sentiments you want up on your stamp shelf – you’ve got them…use them!  🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Yesterday, we hit Tractor Supply to get Finn more food.  Sadly – we also had to do some other errands (where wiggle butts aren’t allowed! 🙁 ) and, since it was like 1000 degrees Kelvin – Finn had to stay home.

So…like parents everywhere….I brought him a consolation prize!

He was a little miffed with us (not really – “miffed” isn’t really his thing – and he was in the AC – watching TV – with a bone!).  But…he was willing to give me a chance to get back in his good graces.

And then…he went to work!  That bone was stuffed end-to-end with “cheese” and “bacon”!

After about an hour….I didn’t hear him.  Or see him.

I found him sacked out in his new fave spot – the second bathroom – on the tile – with the AC bringing the temp down LOW!!

Bone-middle-digging is hard work!

But – he’s young and recovered quickly.  So he was back at it again!

I do believe that bone’s going to get a LOT of attention in the next few days! 🙂
