Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour Here For You

Good morning, y’all – and happy first day of the week!

My card today is one that could be used to send encouragement – sympathy – or just a “hey – I’ve got your six”!  It uses the pretty Color & Contour Bundle and some Fresh Freesia paper from the Pansy Petals DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge – I flipped it on its side!

And the spring-y color scheme is from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

I started by matting a piece of Pansy Petals DSP on Basic Black for the card front.

Next, I cut Basic White panel with a Scalloped Contour Die.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Color & Contour flower in Gorgeous Grape.  Using a Blender Pen and ink from the lid of the Gorgeous Grape ink pad – I colored the blooms.

I used the matching die in Scalloped Contours to cut the flowers.

I stamped the Color & Contour sentiment in Fresh Freesia on Basic White and used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut it out.  Tip:  there was not a “perfectly” sized die – so…I made it work.  First I cut the sentiment using the die – cutting close to the left side of the sentiment.  Then I moved the die – making sure the little “teeth” lined up – and cut the sentiment a second time – making it shorter!

I put everything in place on the Scalloped Contours die cut panel and then stamped the leaf image from Color & Contour a couple of times in Soft Succulent.  Then I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I popped the sentiment in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Each flower is also popped on with Dimensionals.  I colored the centers of each flower with my Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend and added a Loose Flowers Embellishment with a Glue Dot.

Finally – I added a 2021-2023 In Color Jewel in Soft Succulent to the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the second Color & Contour sentiment in Fresh Freesia on a Basic White panel.  Then I added the leaf in Soft Succulent.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Color & Contour leaf a few times in Soft Succulent on the front…

…and more of the Pansy Petals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think the Color & Contour Bundle is one of my faves – if not #1 – then for sure in the top 3!! – in the new Annual Catalog!  I just love the simple line drawn flowers and leaves – and the sentiments are great (in beautiful fonts!).  And the Pansy Petals DSP is…gorgeous, is it not? 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Hey Finn Fans….

We had sad news last night.

This is Bonnie Blue Eyes – Finn’s Mom.

She was taken to the vet yesterday afternoon – and diagnosed with cancer. Then late last night we got the word that she had died. She was only 9. 😢😢😢

I know how badly her parents – Linda and Robert – are hurting today. If y’all would send prayers for peace to them – and to the other dogs – and kitty – in the family who are wondering where their friend is today – Finn and I would be most appreciative.

Thanks y’all.

That is very sad news. Prayers from Colorado. 🙏

  5. Oh no! So sorry to hear about Finn – I am definitely a member of Finn’s Fan Club – so so sorry for your loss. Sweet Baby. They are truly like our children. I know the swiftness has left your head spinning, but in these situations, I feel that is truly heaven sent. Finn is happy and frolicking on the other side of the rainbow bridge, However, you are left to pick up the broken pieces. Rest easy. Finn is quite happy and healthy now. I don’t understand this cancerous beast, we have had 4 babies diagnosed with Cancer. 1 with a Nasal Tumor, two with Stomach Cancer. The nasal tumor was torturous – slow and agonizing and in the end quite messy. But there was a peace that washed over me when she passed while spending the night at the vet – I didn’t understand why, until the vet called with the news. The other 2 with stomach cancer – were super fast. Didn’t even have time to come up with a plan of attack. Currently my Dingo boy has Bone Cancer – Diagnosed last March, just as the Pandemic was shutting down the world – talk about freaking out!. Thankfully I can say he is still with us and potentially in remission for now..my prayers are with you and as you reflect on your memories of Finn, know that warm hugs of understanding are blowing in those trees, looking for you. From me in Alabama all the way over to you.
