Stampin’ Up! Succulent Queen Ann’s Lace & Dragonflies with Video Tutorial

Good morning! And happy Sunday!  I hope you’re having a great weekend – maybe warming up a bit?  We had a gorgeous day yesterday and spent much of it getting mulch from the landfill (I know – it’s a glamorous life we lead – don’t be envious!) and getting our two new beds in place.  Today I think we have to hit Sam’s to see if we can exchange our mixed-gender Martha Washington asparagus for more all-boy-all-the-time Jersey Giants.  See?  Glamour glamour! 😉

If you were able to spend some of your weekend with me on my Facebook Live video last night, I appreciate it!  If not, here’s the replay on YouTube!

This card features a pretty mix of tools – the Potted Succulent die cut and Dragonflies Punch from the Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog as well as the sweet Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  It’s perfect to send to a friend going thru any sort of tough time – take a look-see:

I played with the Global Design Project CASE The Designer challenge – pulling florals and texture and the polka dots on the card base – from the inspiration project.

My focal color – Mossy Meadow – is my answer to the As You See It challenge!!

And – the remainder of the color palette is from the Fab Friday challenge1

To begin, I placed the polka dot mask from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks over the front of my Mossy Meadow card base.  Using a Blending Brush, I added Mossy Meadow dots around the edges of the card.

Next, I adhered a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock to a piece of Adhesive Sheet and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the pretty background die from the Potted Succulents Die set in place.  I removed the backing of the adhesive sheet and adhered the die cut to another piece of Mossy Meadow – then I trimmed it down to size with my Paper Trimmer.

I matted the panel on Mint Macaron to create the card front.  Then I wrapped some Linen Thread around the panel twice, tying a bow on the left side.

On a small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the main floral image from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set in Mossy Meadow.  I added the fill for the flower tops in stamped-off-once Mint Macaron.

Underneath, I stamped the Queen Anne’s Lace sentiment in Calypso Coral.  Then I matted the panel on Mint Macaron and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I punched three little dragonflies, using the aptly-names Dragonflies Punch, from Highland Heather and Vellum cardstocks.  Using my Fine Tip Glue Pen, I adhered the vellum punches to the Highland Heather punches.  When dry, I curled them with my Bone Folder, then brushed the wings with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  When it was dry, I ran the little guys thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine tucked in my Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.

Finally – I added them to the card front with Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Queen Anne’s Lace in Calypso Coral on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I added the floral again in Mossy Meadow and stamped-off-once Mint Macaron.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base – popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Queen Anne’s Lace floral on the front…

…and some little more masked and blended Mossy Meadow polka dots on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I have to thank Brian King for the idea for the tone-on-tone with the Potted Succulent die cut – it’s really stunning – and using the Adhesive Sheets made it so easy!  Queen Anne’s Lace is one of those little flyover stamp sets in the big catalog – but it’s one that has such a sweet floral image and really perfect sentiments. The gorgeous die in the Potted Succulents die set makes such a statement, doesn’t it?  And – not for nuthin’ – you can get the Simply Succulents bundle – save 10%! – AND be all ready for the March Online Tutorial when you place your order in March! What a totally subtle hint THAT was!  😉

I hope you like!

Y’all – don’t miss out on the last day of Sale-A-Bration, okay?  That’s right – THIS IS IT!! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Don’t really think I WANT to know what he’s thinking about.

Of course, he might not be THINKING anything at all.

Maybe he’s just sorta zoning out and his chin is heavy.

It happens.
