Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I had a hankering to play with the soon-to-be-available Butterfly Bouquet bundle and gorgeous Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP (coming to you on 2 March!), so that’s what I reached for. I added a couple sentiments from Tranquil Thoughts and some leaves using its bundled Tranquil Dies (all available now). Take a look-see:

I started with a dreamy watercolor panel from Butterfly Bijou DSP and cut it for the card front. It’s a little smaller on the short-side than usual – 3 3/4″ versus 3 7/8″. You’ll see why in a sec.
I used the next to largest rectangle Stitched With Whimsy die to add some decorative stitching around the edges then cut the panel at 1 1/2″ along the short side.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two pieces of the panel to a Basic Black mat – leaving a gap between them (that’s why I made it a little smaller than usual!).
I stamped a sentiment from the Tranquil Thoughts stamp set in Just Jade on a piece of Basic White, then cut it with the next-to-largest oval in the Stitched Shapes Die set.
On the scrap of Butterfly Bijou left after cutting my card front, I stamped some leaves from Tranquil Thoughts in Just Jade and cut them with their dies in the bundled Tranquil Dies set.
I used the big die in the Brilliant Wings Die set to cut butterflies from one of the Butterfly Bijou DSP designs. I have to say – it’s so SO cool to make one pass with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and get a whole fluttering of multi-colored beauties!!
I adhered the leaves I’d cut to the card front with Liquid Glue, then popped the sentiment oval over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere my die cut butterflies – and then stuck some dimensionals under a few wings here and there to help them “keep flying”. 🙂
Using my Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend, I colored several white Resin Hearts and adhered them around the collage. And…the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Tranquil Thoughts in Just Jade on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the larger leaf twice in Just Jade and the smaller leaf a couple times in stamped-off-once Just Jade. Then I added some Misty Moonlight-colored Resin Hearts.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Tranquil Thoughts leaves in Just Jade on the front…
…and more of the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! You guys! I am SO loving this Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and bundled Brilliant Wings Dies – and can hardly wait for you to get your hands on it!! Of course, since it’s an image only set, you’re going to need a good sentiment or two and the Tranquil Thoughts set comes thru perfectly. And even brings some Tranquil Dies leaves to the party!
