Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Posted For You Note Holder with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a soft-and-pretty color challenge from LeAnne – and it’ll for sure jump-start your creative mojo!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I saw a great sticky-note holder, created by Libeeti Frenkel, on our Paper Players challenge last week and it sent me in search of instructions.  I found some from Yael – in Hebrew…. 🙂  Even with the Google translation – it took a little pondering.  But – I got it figured out and decided to make one and share it with y’all!

Mine has a sort of surprise – it uses the All Things Fabulous and Posted For You bundles (available now in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog) on one side and the Snowflake Wishes bundle (available 4 Aug in the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog) on the other.  Take a look-see

See?  It’s desk-decor with a purpose – and it’s good in multiple seasons! 🙂

The “spring” side is what I made for our Paper Players challenge colors.

And the Inspire. Create. Challenge this week is sorta perfect!

First, I used my Simply Scored tool to score and fold the 4″ x 12″ piece of Smoky Slate card stock at 6″ to create the tent.

I scored and folded one of the 4″ x 4 1/2″ pieces of Smoky Slate at 1″ and 3 1/2″ on the longer side.

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the two flaps to the outside of the tent – making a bottom.

I scored and folded each of the 5″ x 8″ pieces of card stock – at 1″ and 2″ along the short side, and 1″, 2″, 6″ and 7″ along the long side.

I used Paper Snips to remove the outside squares

…and snipped tabs into the remaining square…

Then I added Tear & Tape Adhesive as shown…

I removed the cover from the adhesive, and folded the panel to create the pocket.  I did this on both pieces of Smoky Slate cardstock.  Then I adhered them to the tent using Liquid Glue.  The video shows best how this is done! 🙂

Once both note holders were attached, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the second 4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Smoky Slate to the bottom of the caddy.

I adhered the two DSP panels – one from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP and the other from the returning Feels Like Frost Specialty 6″ x 6″ DSP (whoo-hoo!!) – to Seaside Spray mats and to the top of each side of the tent with Liquid Glue.

Both sides of the holder use the same perfect sentiment from Posted For You in Smoky Slate on Thick Whisper White.

For the flowers, I stamped each of the three-step flowers from All Things Fabulous in So Saffron – using full-strength So Saffron for the first step (the smallest image) and stamped-off-once So Saffron for the other two steps.  I cut them with their matching die in the Fabulous Florals die set.

I added leaves from All Things Fabulous in Seaside Spray and Smoky Slate.  Then I adhered the two smaller flowers with Liquid Glue and popped the largest flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the two Posted For You images in Smoky Slate on Whisper White and cut them with the bundled Postage Stamp Punch.  They’re colored with my So Saffron and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.  I adhered them with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Note – the holder above is one that suffered the “quality escape” on the video (translation – I mis-cut the note holder).  So – I tucked some Seaside Spray 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon in the ends and added a little bow with a Glue Dot! 😉  I also added a new Blue Adhesive-Backed Gem (from the new Aug-Dec 2020 Mini coming on 4 Aug).

On the other side, I stamped snowflakes from the new Snowflake Wishes stamp set in Balmy Blue and Seaside Spray on the sentiment panel.  Then I added stamped-off-once Smoky Slate snowflakes.  A few Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems finished the sentiment panel, which I adhered to the front of the note holder with Liquid Glue

The gorgeous snowflake comes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and bundled So Many Snowflakes dies!

I cut four – one large in Whisper White, a second large snowflake that I stamped in Balmy Blue and cut out, then a medium Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper flake and finally a small one in Seaside Spray.  I adhered them to the top panel in a stack with Liquid Glue.

A few more Blue Adhesive Backed Gems – cuz who can resist them!?!? – finished off the Double-Sided Sticky Note Holder!

Et Voila!  Card stock and glue.  Ink and stamps.  And some pretty paper – and…you’ve got a useful caddy for your desktop.  To keep – or give away as a handy gift!

I love the multi-step All Things Fabulous stamp set and the matching Fabulous Florals Dies, don’t you?

And I’m pretty sure I’ve said already how much I like the Posted For You set with the wunnermus (bundled!) Postage Stamp Punch, haven’t I?

Finally – as winter approaches (yes – it WILL be cold again!) – snowflakes will be the new “flowers” – and you can never have too many flowers – or snowflakes.  And this new Snowflake Wishes bundle is truly stunning!  Get it on 4 Aug!!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn is all about his toys.

He loves them.  He wants to play with them with us.  Without us.

He’s tried to get Katy to play – surprisingly, she’s not really interested in pitting her 10 pounds against his 80 in a game of tug.

Weird…

Sometimes – he just likes to sit quietly on his leather chair and ottoman, gently licking and nibbling one of any number of possible toys du jour.

The Christmas – err….Birthday!…elf is the current fave.

He’s JUUUST about got him stuffing-less…

  1. Such a cool design! Love the way that both turned out…the ribbon saved the day. 🙂 Anything with stuffing or a squeaker lasts about 5 minutes here with Ginny. So I’m impressed that Finn can gently gnaw stuff for that long before it loses a limb or head! 🙂

Ribbon to the rescue!! LOL. Thanks so much, Amy!

  2. I saw this post-it-note holder too and was intrigued by it! I will have to watch your video, I think this would make a cute project for my stamp clubs! LOVE seeing the new snowflake set…my order should arrive tomorrow, although that set’s not in it…maybe later! Love the way you used the postage stamp punch and set too!

Finn amazes me that he hasn’t lost interest in his toys as he’s gotten older…guess he typifies “The man and his toys…”
