Stampin’ Up! Word Wishes for a Happy Easter

Monday cometh!  Or….is Here-eth, I suppose is more correct!  Hope you had a great weekend and that your week looks to be a good one!

I made y’all an Easter Card today – do you realize that Easter is only 7 weeks off?  That means it’s time to be thinking about Easter cards.

And pondering the age-old question…why would a bunny (who OBTW….CLUCKS!!) lay an egg??  Even a delicious candy egg with a soft and creamy center.  And – why only at EASTER??

It simply defies logic!

Sorry – back to my card!  I used the pretty Easter Promise stamp set and…the Word Wishes Die set (this is in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!).  It’s all backed up by the Pleased As Punch DSP (from the 2020 Coordination Product Release).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of new Pleased As Punch DSP from the 2020 Coordination Product Release) that I matted on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

I cut a smaller piece of Whisper White and, using the pretty image from Easter Promise, stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I colored the image with my Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo Pack – plus the Dark Mango Melody Blend for the stamen.

I matted the image on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I made the egg-shell using the Dino Days Die set – cutting it from the same Pleased As Punch DSP that I used on the card front.  And – ready to have your mind blown? 🙂

The egg die in the Dino Dies matches the egg stamp image in the Full of Happiness stamp set!

I popped the egg shell over the stems of the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the small narrow die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies set, I cut three rectangles from Vellum card stock.  These I adhered to the egg shell with Glue Dots.

Using the Word Wishes Die Set, I cut the words in Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the Vellum rectangles.

Finally, I used the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend to color three Pearl Basic Jewels then I adhered them to the card front.  And…the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted a second piece of Pleased As Punch DSP on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it in my Granny Apple Green card base.  I cut another small piece of Whisper White and stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Granny Apple Green.  I stamped and colored the Easter Promise flower in the corner.  Finally, I adhered a Pearl Basic Jewle that I’d colored with my Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Easter Promise flower on the front…

…and more of the Pleased As Punch DSP on the envelope flap.

Et voila!  These beautiful flowers from Easter Promise are so bright and cheerful – and harbingers of hope that Spring – and the promise of Easter! – WILL come!  I love the Word Wishes sentiment die set – it works so well with this (and so many other!) stamp set!

Don’t forget to delve into your Annual Catalog goodies to pair up with the Mini catalog and Sale-a-bration products, okay? And, of course, the pretty Pleased As Punch DSP is so darned versatile!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Sunday was outside-jobs day.  The one day in a bit where there was no rain AND it got warm enough to be outside without 28 layers of insulated clothes on!

We put hay in the back for the ladies…

Then – cuz this is happening on the kitchen island…

…we realized that it’s time to get busy getting the raised beds ready for planting!

Not only is it time for a dirt refresh – or, more accurately – a Mel’s Mix refresh! – but we’ve decided to add a board and deepen the beds.

I put my best welder on the job!

One down – four to go!

See the difference?

Finn was banned to the carport…

…which he didn’t mind one bit.  He’s not a fan of the loud machines – like the welder.  And he’s not a fan of sparky-fire-y things, either.  Like…the weld!

Which he really REALLY didn’t need to watch!  Trying to treat his weld-burned-eyeballs with potato slices…can’t even imagine!

Also?  They don’t work.

At all.  Guess how I know? 😳😳😳
