Stampin’ Up! Welcome Easter Birthday Bunny for The Paper Players

I’ve got another fun challenge for you today from the Paper Players – so come on over and play!  We’re playing with a theme challenge, and it’s a fun one – although it includes “clean and simple”  – which….isn’t exactly my comfort zone.  But – I gave it a go – and I hope you will, too! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I used a new-to-me stamp set called Welcome Easter to make a totally not-Easter card!  With it, I paired the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Happy Birthday to You (available for FREE right now with a $50 retail purchase!) to turn the sweet bunny into a birthday critter.  Take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players theme challenge!  Join the fun and show us your projects! I can’t wait to see what you create!  🙂

The layout for this one is from this week’s CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge!

I started with a slightly-bigger-than-I-needed piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed in the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  I cut the panel down to size, cut the second-to-largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set out of the middle of the it – on a jaunty angle.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat.  Then I popped the die cut rectangle back in its “hole” with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I made the heart using the white-side of a Heart Doily – coloring it with my Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.  I put a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional under the left side of the heart and used Liquid Glue on the rest of the heart to adhere it to the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the totes-adorbs bunn-ya from Welcome Easter in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored him with my Light Petal Pink, Gray Granite and Crumb Cake Stampin’ blends.  Then I cut him out with a circle Stitched Shapes Die.

I added a couple of bees – also from Welcome Easter – in Tuxedo Black, colored in with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

The die cut is adhered with a Dimensional under the right side and Liquid Glue on the rest.

I stamped the Welcome Easter sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Petal Pink and cut it with a Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die – then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.  And – that was it!

On the inside, I used the sentiment from Happy Birthday To You in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I added the bunny and a few bees, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another bunny and bees on the front….

…and some Petal Pink paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  That little Welcome Easter bunny makes me smile every time I see him!  As do the other sweet images in the stamp set!

I love that there are also non-Easter sentiments in the set – making it even more versatile and fun!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We’ve had a casualty.

Background:

It turns out that INFLATABLE balls are perhaps not the best equipped to deal with….teeth.

It took approximately one second for the Big Blue Ball to stop playing.

Finn – couldn’t quite grasp the underlying problem.

Get up!

What’s WRONG with you?!?

Stupid Big Blue Ball. 🙁

  1. Such a sweet card! Love the little bunny, perfectly colored! Uh-oh…one down already?? Yikes, poor Finn. All the fun gone with just one little chomp, stupid exercise ball.

    • stampsnlingers

Right?!? They just don’t make balls like they used to, I guess. Or…I suppose it COULD be that I am not using it for its intended purpose! 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Whoops! That big blue ball had a very sheepish personality…couldn’t even stand up to a gentle Aussie! Your card is so sweet and it’s a perfect CAS in my opinion.

    • stampsnlingers

Haha – “gentle” is probably in the eyes of the beholder…or…Ball-holder! 😉 He’s kind of a bruiser!! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Gerri K

On No!!! Finn was having so much fun with that big blue ball!! Last night when you mentioned a death, I kinda figured it might be the “big blue ball”. So sad.
Thanks for the FB Live last evening. Always so much fun.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – you’re sweet, Gerri – I am SO happy that you enjoyed it – I did, too! 🙂 Yes – it’s hard to lose a much-loved ball. Fortunately – he’s got another couple to play with! 🙂

  4. Aww! Losing a playmate is hard! Who would have thought teeth could get a purchase on a big blue ball?
Adorable card. I love the way you use stamps for other than what they are named. I MIGHT have thought to use it for a baby card, but I love the way you used it. Now, let’s see what you do with the chick and lamb.

    • stampsnlingers

Challenge – accepted! You absolutely would have thought of it for a baby – it’s got a sentiment that just begs to be used for that! Thank you so much, Julie! 🙂

  5. Karen L

Oh, Oh! Well, maybe Finn didn’t want to be a “herder”. He might be more into “security”. Might have to rethink this!! Great little card….always good to look at stamps in a different light….they don’t have to be Easter! Good Example!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Karen! He might not want to be herder – excellent point! We’ll have to see how things progress!! 🙂

  6. Love your little bunny…he is so cute, outside, inside and envelope-side! Adorable!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Leanne – I do try to get all the “sides” covered!! 🙂

  7. That bunny is truly adorable and what an excellent way to show how to broaden the use of a holiday stamp! The soft colors would work well for a baby card too. I feel for poor Finn, it’s so confusing when toys refuse to cooperate LOL!

  8. Oh Mary, that little bunny is precious! The colors are so soft and the embossing adds so much texture! Poor Finn! Sometimes things are just frustrating! Love all your bags, too! You are one busy lady!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – the Thirty One goodies are pretty awesome! Thanks so much for the kind words, Claire – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  9. So cute!!!

    I love the 3 bags too…such a great company!!

  10. Great card, love the fun mix of dies. Maybe Finn would like a Jolly Ball? They are made for horses, so possibly they would stand up to Finn?

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Allisa!! Yep – have had Jolly Balls in the past – was trying to avoid the money outlay until I see if he’s going to like it (and if I’M going to like it!). But – if he/we do – then that’s for sure in our future!! 🙂

  11. Joanne James

Mary your sweet bunny is adorable and I love the layout with the doily and embossed bark. A pretty inside and envelope too!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Joanne – and thank you for coming by! 🙂

  12. Anne Marie Hile

Adorable, Mary! The doily is a sweet touch with that cute bunny!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Anne Marie – appreciate you taking time to come by! 🙂

  13. Mary, gorgeous card. I love all the fabulous texture and I love the inside as much as the outside. Beautiful CAS card
