Stampin’ Up! Toile Peaceful Beautiful Boughs

Good Monday morning, y’all!  Hope you had a great weekend wherever you are!  Yesterday was a BIG day – we opened the windows first thing in the morning and left them open ALL DAY!!  Whoo-hoo!!  A sure sign of Fall in Georgia!

My card today indulges my love of pines – cones, boughs, whatever! – and collages!  I used the pretty Peaceful Boughs and bundled Beautiful Boughs – atop a little Toile Tidings DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And since Christmas is for-sure an “Occasion” – I’m playing along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

I started with a piece of Real Red buffalo check from the Toile Tidings DSP – matted on Garden Green for the card front.

The art is on a piece of Very Vanilla, matted on Garden Green.  I used my Stamparatus to add the large pine bough image from Peaceful Boughs in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow in the corner.  Around it, I stamped the splatter image a few times in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake ink.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With the Beautiful Boughs Dies, I cut some Garden Green and Vellum card stock boughs.  The vellum boughs I cut up so I’d have some pieces to stick into my arrangement.

I also cut some detailed Pine Cones in Gold Foil and the solid pine cones in Early Espresso (I adhered them together with Liquid Glue).

Finally – I pulled out the Frosted Bouquet Die set (annual catalog) and cut two berries from Real Red Glimmer Paper.

With all the pieces and parts ready, I began to assemble my collage.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the pine boughs and Glimmer berries around near the bottom of the Very Vanilla panel.

I adhered the larger pine cone with Liquid Glue and then adhered the smaller with a Dimensional.

I stamped the Peaceful Boughs sentiment in Real Red on Very Vanilla card stock, and added a few stamped-off-once Crumb Cake splatter around – then cut it with the smaller sentiment die in Beautiful Boughs.

I tied a double-length simple bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot, then popped the sentiment on with Dimensionals.

I added some small Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (from the upcoming Christmastime is Here Suite – available on 1 Nov) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow pine bough and a second sentiment in Real Red to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I nestled a few more Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Garden Green mat and into my Early Espresso card base, and also used Liquid Glue to adhere the card front (since it’s already pretty thick!) and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another of the stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow pine boughs on the front…

…and put some more of the Toile Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – not gonna fib ya – I.  Love.  How.  This.  Card.  Turned.  Out!!  🙂  Plaid – Check.  Pines – Check.  Collage – Yep!  I love love love the Peaceful Boughs bundle – the images, sentiments and bundled Beautiful Boughs Dies are…wonderful!!  And – no one needs to extol the virtues of Toile Tidings, do they??  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We spent the day at Costco yesterday – almost literally.

Bought some new flooring that we’ll get down….someday!

Took two trips – one to find that they still had it – and one to take the truck and trailer back to pick it up.

Finn accompanied us on the second trip!

Love riding with the Mom and Dad in the truck!

Are we there yet??
